The best nife sharpener I ever own

Good sharpener
Delivered fast and does get knives sharp. Takes practice to get the speed and stroke right for an even edge. The fine belt seemed to show a lot of wear after just a couple knives. Seems well built and not heavy. Replacement belts are available.

Gets blades almost as sharp as the precision adjust in a fraction of the time
This is great for quickly tuning up knives that you want to be sharp, as long as you don't need them shaving sharp. It particularly shines on long thin blades like fillet knives, where the precision adjust struggles. It's very versatile and I haven't used my precision adjust much since I got this. I think the documentation could be made more clear, and changing belts on it is a little less easy than I expected.

does the job
I have been sharpening knives and such for a long time with a variety of sharpeners including oil stones, water stones and diamond as well as power sharpeners. While all of them work, the process is tedious. For the last several years, I have been using the Ken Onion knife sharpener. I started off with the original work sharp model and I liked it so much that I upgraded to this model. I use my sharpener for kitchen knives and pocketknives. It is simple to use. I can create an edge sharp enough for shaving on more than a dozen knives in less than 30 minutes.

Motor burned out
The sharpener worked great. I had sharpened a few knives and was working on another when I heard a pop and the motor had burned out. More than a little inconvenient don't you think? What now?
