Who Doesn't Love Lists!?!
This book is a great read. It's made up of 15 chapters that categorize the lists into subjects like People, Movies, The Arts, Sports, Animals, Crime, and much more. Each chapter has on average about 20 lists of interesting facts. Here are a few examples:- 6 People Whose Names Were Changed By Accident- 8 Almost Indestructible People- 14 Movie Stars Who Fell in Love on the Set- 23 Actors and Actresses Who Turned Down Great Roles- 9 Cats Who Traveled Long Distances to Return Home- 5 of the World's Most Oft-Sighted Lake and Sea Monsters- 10 Most Intelligent Breeds of Dog- 15 Unusual Stolen Objects- 23 Obscure and Obsolete Words- The Truth About 16 Common Sayings- 5 Remarkable Messages in Bottles...and the lists just keep coming. There are lists created by the famous and influential included. There are odd lists and some that are just plain interesting. There will also probably some that you will skip over without much thought. If you like lists and a good read with ever-changing topics, then the Book of Lists is for you.

Yes, it has changed
Over the last thirty-ish years, the BoL has changed. Many of the superlatives in the original have been surpassed, and many new areas of human endeavour have come into existence since the mid-to-late 70s.For that remove in time, though, this was a very entertaining piece of work; and anyone with an ounce of intellectual curiosity could consult the World Book or the Britannica, or the F&W for that matter, for more information.I find it refreshing how the authors have reconstructed this into a new-and-yet-the-same format. It's well worth the price, even if it's only for reading in the privvy.

If you like this sort of thing, then this is good
If I made a list of good books about lists then this book would be in the list

List # 2
I originally purchased this book in 79 or 80. I was enamored with it. Now, older, I find it interesting. Definitely worth purchasing for anyone interested in trivia and facts. Something for everyone, more for most!
