Mass Effect: Discovery

Really glad that Bioware made a comic for the prequel to Andromeda. This is really cool that Kandros got his own story. Loved that guy. If you are a fan of the series, you should definitely read it.Warning though, mine came damaged since someone only packed it into a bubble mailer. Covers were cracked which made me pretty mad. But the story is good. You should get it.

Love the book. However it is beaten up. Not a new copy as was described.

As someone who is late for mass affect Andromeda game, I appreciate all of the comics and books that add lore to the game. This was a good story, but with it being in comic book form it was pretty quick. I’ll admit some of the dialogue was cheesy, but overall it was an entertaining read.

The announcement that there would be no sequel to Mass Effect Andromeda was heartbreaking for those of us who embraced the game, which tantalized at larger mysteries in the Andromeda galaxy, not to mention the conspiracy back in the Milky Way that put the Andromeda Initiative together in the first place.Discovery is a comic collection prequel to the game that isn't going to tell you much about where the story was going, but which delves into some of the mysteries behind what created the Initiative in the first place. It's an action-heavy story featuring a Turian commando trying to figure out what is going on.The art is solid, as is the writing, and the story itself explores some unseen aspects of the ME universe. The ties to the video games are fairly distant and loose, so don't expect to learn amazing new things about characters you already like, but if you like the world of Mass Effect and enjoy "expanded universe"-style content, this story is a good, fast blast into the world the games are set in.Be warned, this is NOT an introduction. You'll be plunged right in this world with little explanation. Those who don't know the games will feel lost.My rating is intended for Mass Effect fans.If you're instead a comic fan looking for a good sci-fi comic who doesn't otherwise know Mass Effect, this is instead a 3.

My adult son loves this series. As for me, I'm totally clueless. I got this book for my son, and here is his review:Fans of the series will enjoy this book, but someone new to Mass Effect will probably not.The art is good and the story is decent enough.If you're unfamiliar with the series and/or the video game, you'll probably be lost. The worst part of this is the fact that is has to do with Andromeda. Ugh. Still worth reading for fans, but it didn't blow me away.

A good story that provided some more background info about the game!! I'd recommend it if you're a fan of the franchise.

“Mass Effect: Discovery” is the sole comic book tie-in released as promotion for “Mass Effect: Andromeda”; it’s also, unfortunately, kind of a lemon. Writer Jeremy Barlow does his best to invigorate the proceedings here, at least on a narrative level – while a prequel to the game, “Discovery” doesn’t fall into the traps that claim far too many other comic/novel tie-ins that are set before the events of their respective games. That being said, “Discovery” ALSO doesn’t do too much that’s either compelling or interesting on its own terms: most of what’s here is pretty standard sci-fi stuff, and in terms of cross-connections to the the game, “Discovery” doesn’t feature any story material that’s a “must know” for fans who might be interested in capturing the full “Andromeda” story.In other words? This is an easy skip.

Not a gamer, but this is a decent story with very cool artwork.

I epected more for the money to be honest. I've several Mass Effect books and this is my first comic. It's fun to read and look at but lasted two hours before I finished and I'm a slow reader. If you're a huge fan of Mass Effect this is a must to add to your collection, if you're not too bothered, I wouldn't bother.Quality of the comic is nice, it's bright and vibrant but also lacking in that wow factor.

Aqui teneis la edicion completa de la última serie de comic de Mass Effect, y por ahora la unica de Andromeda (aunque discurre en nuestra galaxia, antes de la mision) mostrandonos la Iniciativa Andromeda, a Jien Garson, y un secreto geth que bien mereceria un libro o comic propio. Quizá no la mejor serie de comic de Mass Effect (y solo está en inglés, ojo) pero es imprescindible en la coleccion de todo fan del universo.Here you have the full last serie of comic to Mass Effect, and for now, the only one of Andromeda (though it happens everything in our galaxy, before of launching, showing us the Andromeda Initiative, Jien Garson, and a interesting geth secret who deserves a book or comic to explain it. Maybe isn't the best serie of Mass Effect, but it must be in the library of any REAL fan of this universe

Qualità discreta della storia, grafica discreta , estende l'universo di Andromeda che ormai la Bioware ha chiuso dal punto di vista video ludico. .Sono in attesa di Annihilation che dovrebbe coprire le vicende dell'arca Quarian (il famoso DLC cancellato) ma nell'attesa è un discreto riempitivo
