I have been trying new devices with the new Matter protocol. I was able to get this to work with Home Assistant Yellow using the Home Assistant app on my iPhone. I plugged the power plug into the wall and then launched the Home Assistant app and went to integrations. Clicked Add Integration and then Add Matter Device. Here is the downside. It took four tries and when it did work the foreground window showed it had failed again, but when I closed the window the device was set up. After that, everything worked fine and I was able to rename the device. I am not able to see the power used by the plug, but that was just added to Matter a couple of weeks ago, so maybe with an update it will see that data. The plugs response time via Matter is instantaneous. There is no delay at all. Overall a great value and once Matter is more mature I am sure the setup will be more reliable.

Update:Everything is working now, the Bluetooth on my phone was intermittent.I loaded the App on my Samsung Tablet, and every plug was found and added to the App seamlessly.I guess it's time for a new phone.This outlet will not connect in the App. the App sees it I click on it and input my WiFi password then click on connect.It immediately says I need to connect to a hub.No where in the instructions or description does it say anything about a hub!I guess I'll be returning the 3 that I bought and try something else!

This is my 1st try at a Matter device and I am so far very impressed. I have been using Z-Wave and getting a new device in an existing system is trying sometimes. I plugged in the Matter device and before I could do anything else, my Home application (I didn't even get a chance to open it yet) notified me it found a new device. I scanned the bar-code and it adopted immediately and that was all it took. So far, this Matter device is working flawlessly. If they could get these down to around $10.00, it would be a game changer.

It is nice value for money smart adapter and easy to install and use.
