Raspberry Pi Zero W Basic Starter Kit with Official Case-Power Supply and More

This is Raspberry Pi Product was a major headache to get working. There is NO documentation provide from the kit. When you go to the Vilros web site, you will eventually find instructions for downloading a version of the Raspberry Pi NOOBS operating system to download, however I couldn't get it to actually work. Followed the instructions, and the LED on the board would not even light up.I returned my first unit for exchange, created a new boot card from a new download off the Vilros site, and had the same result. I then took the SD card out of another Raspberry Card and inserted it into this board, and the system booted up. The problem turned out to be that the Raspberry NOOBS installation and Raspbian OS will only work with a FAT32 formatted SD card. That means, the maximum size SD card is 64GB. I was using several different SD cards that were 128GB or larger. The Raspberry Pi Zero only has one LED indicator on it, (where other Raspberry Pi computers have 2) and it indicates read/write activity. Because the SD card I was using couldn't be read by the Pi Zero, the board appeared to be dead. I went out and got a new 64GB SD card, installed NOOBs on it, and sure enough it would boot and configure Raspbian.NOTE: Vilros only provides support only Mon-Thu 9-4 Eastern time. There is no documentation indicating the SD card size restriction on their site or the Raspberry Pi web site.

I may be a sucker for the official case, but this is the best possible kit. The board pops in there easily, the case is slim with just enough space for the heat sink that is included, and once I popped an SD card in for the OS it booted beautifully. I still just marvel at the size of this actual computer, and unless you already have a power supply and case this is probably the way to go as it's an all-in-one kit.I used this one with the Raspberry Pi HomeBridge image and it works perfectly.

I had major problems getting this to boot up. I kid you not, I finally got it to work by plugging the power into the port that says USB. It booted up only after plugging it into the “wrong” port. Now it’s booting up using the actual power port as well. Extremely frustrating but at least it’s working now.

I bought another, almost identical, Vilros kit prior to this one (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0748MPQT4/) and posted this same review on both. The difference between the two are that this one comes with the official Raspberry Pi case and a power supply with no power switch in the cord. The other comes with a custom Vilros branded case, and the power supply has a power switch in the cord. Both of these are quality kits and include all the basics you need to get up and running quickly. Before I bought this kit, I was going to just buy another board, but then realized that by the time I assembled the parts I need, this is actually a nice kit at a great price. I'm very happy with this purchase, which is evident by the fact that this is the second I bought within a couple weeks.

LOVE the Raspberry Pi Zero W, love the Power Supply and Love the official case. No need for any of the other items for me as I installed it headless following some guides I found online. The heatsink is not recommmended per my research actually results in increased temperatures. The Pi does not need a heatsink but is added to the kit to increase it's perceived value

I previously had one set of this that worked as expected. There are two things that I experienced with this product:1. The bad thing was that the power conector on the raspberry pi zero w was a little bit smash, so I had to fix it in order to work.2. The good thing is that the power cord has a switch which that previous one that I had didn’t.After that all works as expected

Tried to close the camera containing top over the circuit board and the heat sink for the processor chip wouldn't allow the box to close. Poor design. Otherwise it works. Very slow on wifi though.

I received it and set everything up right away. After a few hours, the pi zero stopped working, and every trouble-shooting step pointed to a dead board. Support was very helpful and replaced the bad computer with a working one quickly, despite the current pandemic.Other than that, what is there to say? It's a raspberry pi. It's tiny and inexpensive and runs linux.

La frambuesa pi zero w fue genial. El caso "oficial" es solo más o menos. Una parte superior estaba rota, las otras dos no encajan correctamente. Pero estaba preocupado por el RPI0w y eso es perfecto.

Contiene todo lo necesario para echarlo a andar. La tengo como consola de videojuegos y funciona de maravilla.
