Excellent
Just a full-on modern day guide to improving your conversational skills in social and work settings. From conversing with someone you're attracted to, to the best small talk approaches (FORD strategy) when you run out of things to say when trying to build rapport with a client. Ian touched on everything I think I wanted help with and more.I will constantly refer back to this book as my guide on many occasions: before an interview, when calling to complain about a bad product, when approaching a senior manager, when addressing an issue with a colleague or friend....MANY occasions. It was simple, easy to read and provided some of the most useful tips of any book I've read recently. I've read the renowned "How to win friends and influence people" and I thought it was good, providing me with a wealth of tips as well. But its references were severely dated, which is fine as it was written decades ago, but still. I also didn't connect to as many of the strategies as I did in Ian's book. I say that this book is the modern day, and for me, better, version of Dale Carnegie's flagship. This was my first and will not be my last Ian Tuhovsky book.

The communication information jackpot
A true goldmine of communication information! Each chapter concisely addresses aspects of verbal and nonverbal communication in a way that is easy to understand and has real-world application suggestions. While reading you start to recognize your own mistakes and mishaps in communication and are provided with relevant alternative responses. First starting to analyze your own communication skills feels funny. However once you start to apply the information Ian provides, you have great interactions with people and communication becomes a source of pleasure! This is one of the greatest and least expensive investments I’ve made in my life and relationships and every day look forward to applying the knowledge in this book. Thank you Ian, truly.

The book was easy to read with short segments. I purchased it for a class assignment. Very basic content.

To broad
The content was good , but was presented vaguely. I was looking for a more concise book that had some exercises.

It is a very good read. What I really enjoyed reading about was: there are techniques & tips to put in place for effective communication. I was looking forward to such information which could help me in all aspects of good communication. Thanks to Ian Tuhovsky for being such a friend. Thumbs up. Here comes the real question i.e. I need to put these in practice )).
