You will find words here you don't find elsewhere
As a published writer myself, I have a huge vocabulary. I was surprised to find words here I have not come across anywhere else. Now I knew about 90% of the words but the 10% that I did not know surprised me. It is a good book and a good excercise to read it and it will add to your vocabulary. It will also cause people to look up words in your copy.Nice to toss a little known word in and send people to their dictionaries. The reviewer is the author of an award winning book entitled: SEX EDUCATION FOR ADULTS SECRETS TOAMAZING SEX AND HAPPILY EVER AFTER TOO. It took first place in my category marriage: in the InternationalBook Excellence Awards. The best review on the book is by a licensed marriage counsselor who credits the book for saving his marriage. It is on the AASECT recommended reading list (American Assn of Sexual Educators, Counselors and Therapists)I was recently offered a TED talk on the Book

An excellent work
I thought I knew almost all of these words, but when it came down to reciting a definition for each word, that was difficult, as I could almost always use the words but lacked an understanding of the full definition of the word, something that each of us should have.

Found it disappointingly easy. With the exception of a few words
Found it disappointingly easy. With the exception of a few words, I knew them all, but then I love to read.

Building vocabulary
This is a nice tool for building vocabulary . . . adding new words and clarifying the meaning of words already in use.

A useful reference book
I agree with the other reviewer that a diligent student would know most of the words. It's still a good reference book, especially when so many of today's college students are barely literate.Disclaimer: I must admit that my primary motivation for buying this book was that my own letter published in the Washington Post has been cited (under "edify") !...
