Great design decisions, performance, battery life, and simplicity!
I bought this kit because it seemed to be the best-value water/flood sensor on the market, and was from a long-standing, reputable brand. This system is very well designed, especially compared to many of the other water sensing products on the market in late 2023. The D-Link system takes advantage of different technologies to maximize the performance and minimize the maintenance. The base unit, that includes a water sensing cable, runs on your home's AC power and uses WiFi to connect to the Internet, your phone for notifications, etc.. Using AC power and WiFi is a far smarter solution than battery-only units that rely on because there is no battery to worry about changing or monitoring, and WiFi has good range throughout the house (assuming you have invested in some decent WiFi routers and/or a mesh system).I put my main hub/sensor unit by my basement sump pump and dangled the water-sensing cable down into the sump pit. I secured the cable with zip ties at a height that would only get wet when my pump(s) have failed, but the pit water has not yet reached the basement floor height. Simple. My sump pump(s) run off a battery backed-up 120V AC supply, so I simply plugged the sensor/hub unit into that same supply. My cable modem and routers also have battery back-up, so even in a power outage, I should be able to receive flood alerts. Nice! The two additional remote sensors are battery operated, making it easy to put under a sink or behind a toilet where no power source is available. And D-Link very wisely did NOT use the WiFi protocol for these remote sensors, as that would drain the battery very quickly. D-Link uses a sub-GHz communication protocol (I'm guessing it's a 900 MHz system) and the sensors stay in a very low power state, communicating their normal status occasionally, and water detection immediately. The batteries are claimed to last for 5 years. Simple, and smart.I had absolutely no problems setting up the devices. I followed the directions and the hub unit and remote sensors were instantly recognized and paired via the D-Link app. Testing each sensor by exposing it to water yielded instant notifications on my phone via the app. Excellent!Note: I had some D-Link home monitoring camera systems and video recorder solutions ~5 years ago, and they were not nearly as easy to set up, and they also didn't give consistent notifications via my phone. I'm happy to say that D-Link seems to have ironed out all those wrinkles in this design. This system works so well, I'm going to order some additional remote sensor units and locate them under all the areas in my house where I want to detect water leaks (sinks, toilets, etc.).

Money saver
Within days of receiving my d-link, I experienced leak in bathroom. This saved me lots of money as I would not have noticed the leak until much later if not for the notification from d-link.

It just works
Bought another water sensor but returned it when it would not connect to my phone. D-Link installed simply and easily. Out the sensor in some water to test it and it worked.Picking up another set for my son.

So far works fine
One sensor's batteries died after setup. I think I didn't get notification. That is something they could work on? To get notification if batteries are gone?Battery exchange was simple, and it works also on rechargeable ones. I guess it will last less, will see. But so far, no other issues with this.I find the cable from the main unit little short, but I guess for normal home usage it should be fine.
