A great educational gift that kids will enjoy.
This is a great STEM Science Kit. My granddaughter loves it. The container is clearly visible and shows the layers needed to grow the seeds. The child gets to watch the growth, water the plant and put together the terrarium. Grandparents, invest in this long lasting terrarium. It is educational and fun to view daily. It comes with all supplies and worth the money.

Nice kit. Everything included. Well put together set.
I have posted photos of everything that comes in this kit, except the jar itself. The jar looks just like the photos already on this page though. And is made out of a decent quality plastic. Not super high quality but also high quality enough for the needs. I haven't actually started using this kit yet, but wanted to review the items that it comes with anyway. I don't forsee any problems with using the kit, but will update it any issues arise. I'm not particularly fond of the bunny and mushroom house miniatures that come with it, but they would be cute for a younger child. I bought this for my 11-year-old son so he probably won't include those. I couldn't see anywhere on the product page what type of seeds it came with. I was pleased to find out that it comes with two kinds. They are mixed in the bag, so they will grow randomly if you just dump the seeds out, rather than separating them first. The two types of seeds are wheatgrass, and sage. Both are edible, which I think is a nice addition, too. I imagine once they've sprouted you could replant them into a small herb garden, if you had one or wanted to make one. Then could replant more seeds inside the terrarium jar. To be clear, the light up jar lid is not "glow in the dark". It lights up because it has an LED light inside of it. This needs to be charged for it to work at night. I posted a photo of the charging cord that comes with it. I'm nervous about losing it because it's not the same kind that I use with any of my devices at home already. But I imagine it could be replaced if necessary. Something good to know in advance about the LED light is that it says in the manual it will take "2 to 3 hours to fully recharge the light". "Once the light is fully charged it should shine for approximately 4 hours." To me that seems like an awful long charging time for an awfully short amount of usage. And it could be difficult to make sure to charge it every day, if you plan to use the light every night, but also to keep the terrarium in a sunny and warm spot during the day, as recommended for growth. The sheet of stickers they give you to put on the outside of the jar is a nice little mixture of nature designs. I really like that these are not just standard stickers. They are the type that cling but are easily removable, and readjustable. Like- the clear plastic that clings to other plastic or glass, if you know what I mean. This comes with a very well made guide, that has nicely laid out step by step instructions for setting it up. And the kit has everything you need, except the water to go in the spray bottle. The spray bottle itself, by the way, is exceptionally adorable! I've never seen a spray bottle that I thought was cute before now. Lol. I'm looking forward to helping my son set his up, and watching it grow with him. I think it's a nice way to start growing things from seeds, without having to contend with the outside world and the potential dangers to sprouting plants that being outside poses. 😀

Easy to set up on their own
Easy for a 11-year-old to follow the directions and set it up on their own. Comes with a plug in attachment for the lid and it charges just fine. So far the charges lasted over a week. Nothing has sprouted yet but it’s cute and doubles as a nightlight. The size is that of a large mason jar. Makes a great gift.

Cute set
It's a cute set that is great for teaching about the water cycle but unfortunately we haven't been able to get anything to grow in it. Maybe it's because it was a Christmas gift and winter isn't the time to plant the seeds, but in FL and have had a very mild winter so not really sure.

Fun set but light doesn't work
Mixed review. The set itself is great. We really enjoyed putting it together. The light however does not work. Yes, we charged it.

Seems decent if you get a new and fresh version. Updated.
Edit Update: The company reached out to me without prompting and is sending out a new lid along with fresh seeds. They were very helpful and responsive. The jar and little pieces are cute, especially for a first time setup. However the jar lid on ours doesn't charge so it has to remain plugged in overnight. The seeds also seem old or the seed bag was slightly torn but they aren't sprouting. We're keeping the jar and going to grab seeds at a local shop.

A great gift for a 4-8 year olds
I got this for my 7 year old granddaughter. What’s great is that it comes with everything you need to get it going. She added a few other “fairy house’ type decorations. It’s relatively small and doesn’t take up too much space on her dresser. Would easily fit on a night stand. This made a great educational gift that required very little help from grandpa to put together.

Previously left a negative review concerning that the lid light would not work... the day after posting, I received a message from the seller that they would immediately send me a replacement lid with full apologies... outstanding response time and obviously a seller that believes in their product... so only good things to say and would highly recommend this terrarium, as my 7 year old granddaughter loves it... thank you Rachel

This terrarium is a great idea and it looks cute, but nothing grew, despite our following the instructions carefully. Update: Customer service contacted me to see how they could help. They sent me another package of seeds. We have just planted them. We'll see if this batch grows. Further update: the plants are sprouting!

This was a Christmas gift and when opened it was already passed the return date unfortunately because it’s unusable. The light doesn’t work and the kit is missing the seed package.
