Bought this to replace an earlier version that gave good service for 6 years, so far I'm very happy with the results and impressed by the battery life between charges.

PHILLIPS NO LONGER MEANS A QUALITY ITEM
Phillips Electric Razors used to come in a case for travelling, somewhere you can put the charger lead and the trimming attachment. This arrived in cardboard packaging which when opened left you with three individual loose items. Guaranteed the charger lead will be mislaid in the future and render the razor without power and USELESS. And where is the little head cleaning brush that was always issued with a Phillips Razor. Does PHILLIPS no longer mean quality. I'm very disappointed.

Mixed feelings. It's good but not great.
Shaving is a chore, so when my previous shaver gave up the ghost I decided to shake things up by switching from Braun to Philips. It's over 20 years since I last used a Philips shaver, and things have improved considerably. The tilting heads make it much easier to shave the neck than the static ones of old. Perhaps the most notable difference between this and my previous shaver is how quiet this one is. On weekdays I have to get up much earlier than everyone else in the house, and previously always shaved downstairs to avoid waking anyone else. Not any more. This shaver is much, much quieter. Unlike my previous device, this one continues to provide an effective shave right until the battery gave up. While this is in itself a positive thing, I found it caused me problems. There is a light to indicate low power, but you aren't likely to see it when the device is in use. Moreover, you can't use the shaver while it charges (it simply doesn't allow you to). So if you run out of juice mid-shave, you have to plug it in and wait. A full charge takes 50 minutes, but a 4/5 minute charge should be sufficient to finish your shave. That may not sound like much, but if like me you're always cutting it fine to meet your commuter train, those few minutes may be all important! As to the shave itself, on the flatter regions, it does very well and perhaps better than the Braun. But that doesn't extend to the more awkwardly shaped parts of my face. By way of illustation, since each shaving head has a 5mm (or so) border, I find I have to pay special attention to the hairs immediately below my nose, as even if the border touches my nose, the blades themselves will still be 5mm short of there. As other reviewers have noted, I found this shaver left my neck feeling rather red and sensitive. My skin seems to have become more accustomed to this over time, but it's still more of an issue than with the my old Braun shaver. All in all it's a capable and quiet shaver. It's been nice to have a change to my morning routine but I'm not sure my next shaver will be a Philips.

My husband is happy with this model.
Hubble says that it gives a good close shave, with no issues.

This was the second chance I have Philips, I've used this and the expensive twin of the same product and have suffered severe irritation.
