Learning Resources Soft Foam Geometric Shapes (Set of 12)

Excellent learning tool for my home schooled child who learns with visual aids, these are an ideal size, quite durable and soft.

Good quality firm sponge nice bright colours and a good size that a baby can't easily swollen any, do watch though as they can bite bits off

The shapes look as if they will be very useful. However the containetr they were in had been damaged, so I have transfered the shapes to a cloth bag.

The shapes are a good size and the children responded to the tactile nature of the foam. They also come in their own storage tub.

I love these 3D shapes. They are great, perfect actually. My son uses them to build things as well. The foam is perfect.

This is an essential tool for giving students hands on experience with shapes. It really helps them to understand the concepts of edge, face, vertex, etc...

These soft foam shapes are a perfect tactile tool to help explain 3-dimensional concepts to your young learner. The 12 foam shapes give them a real feel for how a square drawn on a piece of paper is way different from a cube, or how a circle is different from a sphere.Concepts that are obvious to the adult mind are not always so to the emerging learner. Manipulatives are an especially good way to illustrate these higher level, dimensional concepts. Their look and feel also allows learners to visually count - versus decipher from 2-D drawings - the faces, edges and vertexes of each object.The 12 shapes are pretty standard, but I especially liked the inclusion of both the square pyramid contrasting with that of the triangular prism which also has a square bottom. Seeing these two shapes together, in real space and time, allowed my second grader to begin to grasp complex shape differences and formation.These are light-weight but sturdily constructed and brightly-colored shapes. Keep away from babies because mine always mouth and try to bite them. Preschoolers love them.

J'ai acheté ces solides pour que mes élèves de petite section puissent les manipuler, ils sont très bien, je recommanderai de faire les mêmes dans un plus grand gabarit.
