Great product would buy again

90 speed paints including metallics and brushes plus a mixing palette these are the 2.0 version of speed paint. Speed paint 1.0 (the originals) could reactivate if you didn’t allow them a very long time to dry or varnish between coats which didn’t make them very speedy but did allow for blending. So this new formulation apparently should allow you to paint over colours after a few hours without bleeding through, but reduce the amount of blending time and they have also increased the colour range massively and added the metallic to the range. Opening the box the paints are not very well packed and were loose in their plastic trays and mixed up in the box, if you keep your paints on a shelf this is not an issue but if you lack space or keep them in the original packaging a more substantial box design that kept them in place would be preferable. The paints though are very good if you use them correctly. I found that a base undercoat and going through the colours from lightest to dark as Army Painter suggested did work well giving them time to dry between coats. The normal colours are nice and varied, the metallics in the set are okay but for the most part I think I will stick to normal metallics, which I prefer, and not these speed paint ones. I like that they have put a more descriptive title for each colour on the label as well as the more esoteric one for example Murder Scene is also described on the bottle as Black Purplish Red, a far more helpful description. I do feel that for the beginner this complete set is probably overkill as it gives you far too many colours as well as a large price tag, I would suggest a beginner gets one of the smaller starter sets first they would be enough to get going and a far lower initial outlay. If you have a large army to paint these though will cover all your stuff quickly and easily. Plenty of tutorials are on the web showing you how to get the most out of these I suggest you watch some of those make sure they are using the 2.0 Speed Paints though.

This is an extensive collection of ready mixed colours. 90 bottles including a small clear diluting stuff. You get 3 different size of brushes in the set and there was another on the outside of the box (with triangular handle) and a plastic palette wrapped with it. That triangular brush is very nice and easy to control. Inside the set, the bottles are in plastic indentations and you can arrange them for what you are doing ,army or medieval or gothic or whatever. All the colours are transparent or nearly and you really need a light base colour on your models to begin with. We wanted to paint a tiny little car for my son's train layout and as there is no base layer medium in the set, we used a lightish grey as the base layer. You can build the colours up so they would be effective for shading . You need to start on the lightest colour and work towards the darkest . There isnt really a white. Even the 'holy white' isnt white, its grey because you are expected to first undercoat with a white base (not supplied). There is a diluting medium in the small bottle size and another larger bottle of the same. I think that stuff is a kind of clear matt acrylic so we used it to go over the painted car and it dried matt but did look like it added a bit of depth and it didnt remove any of the underlying paint. This is a lovely set of paints for modelling hobby work. It is jolly expensive but I dont think that is unusual for this type of hobby and the results are quite pleasing. I think for the price they could have included a tin of base layer and a few more brushes. I expect a warhammer or D&D enthusiast would be delighted with it.

Viene con 4 pinceles de diversos tamaños y una paleta para pintar. El resultado de este tipo de pintura es brutal, muy recomendada para principiantes.

Il set è fantastico, non credo che si possa avere di meglio. I colori sono molto versatili se diluiti e possono essere usati come wash o glaze, non si riattivano facilmente una volta che si asciugano.

This set is amazing—it includes all the Speed Paint colors released so far. I highly recommend it. The price is absolutely worth it if you want to have the complete color range.

These are beautiful. They are thinner which makes coverage simple and they spread really well without making a giant mess. The bottles are great because they are think and durable and have mixing balls so they will last for forever. They work great for larger surface areas. If you have a smaller area to work with just make sure to us only a tiny amount of paint and a very small brush and take your time. They are spendy but with how little paint you reay do need it's an excellent value and quality.
