Help with Tire Size
I swapped out my mtb tires(54X622) for these 700X38's. For those who need a little help they fit 700 or 622 which is basicallya 28 inch tire. A 29er mtb is a 700 or a 622 or a 28 inch tire. 700 is French and 622 is ERTRO, Follow the ERTRO on your present tirefor a more accurate size. All it's referring to is diameter. The smaller number is the width and is more of a personal preference as to how wide you want to go. My mtb tires are 54mm wide and these tires in my case are 38mm and ran true to size. Get the idea? If you see tires expressed in fractions BEWARE since that's another story. You'll probably need a set of tubes to go with the tires unless you know what's under the rubber on your bike. My mtb tube was 1.9 - 2.3. That's inches, I had to convert it to mm to find the correct tube size. Easy peezy you can find one online or just multiply it by 25.4 to mm, tubes will usually fit a variety of widths. The cc in the drop down list is cubic centimeter and as far as I know is a measure of volume but het they must mean center to center, So I just treated it as mm and all was well. The tires were decent and am happy with them. Hope this helps whatever tire you decide on.Update 12/07/2013I went on a ten mile ride mostly bike lanes and ran over tons of debris and no problems. I gained approx. 2 miles an faster, quieter than my knobbiesfor sure. Rolled easily and I went down 2 gears wile peddling felt about the same as where I had been running with the mtb tires. It's a noticeable differencefrom the old tires but not a huge one.

Great Upgrade
I bought these as an upgrade for a big-box (very inexpensive) Schwinn bicycle. I wanted a smoother ride, a more puncture resistant tire, and a tire which spun with less effort on my part. This tire exceeded my expectations.I'm too old to enjoy careening around the woods or stump jumping, although I did plenty of that 20 years ago. Now I ride mostly on hard surface trails or on streets. Compared to the aggressive tread of the tires that came with my bike, these Michelins give me a more comfortable ride yet handle gravel, sand, and mud easily. What really surprised me was how well they handle rain. I was also pleased that, despite their low profile, these tires brake are very solid under even panic braking.I wouldn't recommend them for heavy off-trail use but if you use your bike for commuting or general fitness, these Michelins are excellent.A note on sizing: these were not available in the same size as my original tires so I ordered a pair that were 4mm smaller -- they fit with no problem. If you can't find the exact size you need, I suggest you check with your local bike shop to find out the range of sizes your wheels will accept. Since I had taken my new bike into the shop to be tuned as the manufacturer recommended, I got lots of helpful advice from them and, given that my bike needed a fair amount of tune-up work, I'd strongly urge anyone buying a bike online or from a big box store to the same.Overall, for commuting or surfaced trail use, these tires can't be beat!

Over 2000+ miles...
I bought these tires (700Cx40) over a year ago to replace the manufacturer tires that were supposed to be puncture free, but clearly were not. I commute with my bike in northern Indiana all year around on sunny, rainy, and snowy days. I ride on pavement, gravel, dirt road. The ride with these tires is extremely comfortable and the only times I fell was because I took a turn too sharp on ice. With any tires out there, I would have fallen in these conditions.I've now put over 2000 miles on these tires and not a single flat. I know that I rode several times on broken glass, noticing the glass too late to avoid it and the tires have been holding extremely well. The other day I was checking for cut and debris on the tire, and I did notice for the first time in a year that in the rear tire there was a little piece of glass. And it is probably my fault it went so deep because I did not check for quite a while the tires. However, even though the piece of glass was about 1/8" deep in tire, it did not puncture it. I've ridden now several times with it while I am waiting for the replacement, and no issue. The front tire has not cut and has not lost much of its original thread. I am therefore pretty confident I will be able to put many more miles on the front tire.Based on my commuting experience and long ride on the weekend, I highly recommend these Michelin tires.

Pretty good tire
It's a heavy tire but rolls quite fast on hard pavement. VERY poor choice for anything loose. gravel, dirt, etc. Performs very well under total bike/equipment/rider weight of about 270 pounds. No worries about pinch flats whatsoever.Bought this for touring, on the rear wheel. Have a lot of weight over the rear wheel, and transfer a lot of power through that wheel. Rear tire wears about 3-4 times faster than front and it's a pain in the butt to fix flats (disc brakes plus panniers). This tire looks like a very good choice but running lighter tire in front.UPDATE: May 2011. I finally removed this tire last week. It handled an 1800 mile cross country tour with a total of almost 300 pounds, heavily biased to be over this wheel. NO flats during the ride. In fact no flats since putting it on, other than a thumb tack that got embedded in it last year. The tire lasted a ridiculously long time too. I got nearly 6,000 miles out of it. No tire I have ever used has lasted that long. I changed it when threads started showing up on the wear surface.Once again, it is a HEAVY tire, but rolls fast.

A bit pricey, but excellent reflective safety feature.
I bought this because it has a reflective wall and Michelin is a recognised brand, which I think are two good qualities. However the quality of the tyre feels and looks cheap and it was quite pricey. Next time I want a cheap tyre I will buy a cheap tyre and save a bit. However for safety on the roads the reflective wall could save my life, therefore 4 stars for safety.

Great Value Solid Tyre
These are great value tyres that are perfect for commuting on a racer; make sure of your existing clearance between your tyre and brakes first though just in case your bike won't work with them. It is tight for me but just fits. The tyres offer tread for the rougher spots on the road and reduce the likelihood of punctures. I feel safe on them which is the main thing. They do have reflective properties but you need to be better than me at keeping your tyres clean.

Smart product
Good rolling action and grip. Seems tough product with added safety of reflective sidewalls. Time will tell whether puncture resistance is better than average. Delivery time estimate exceeded by rapid delivery.

Good quality
When I first got them they felt very solid and heavy. I finally had the chance to repair my bike last night and now this Dutch person can get her bike on the British roads ;)
