I needed an Olympic bar for forearm and bicep exercises. This one was well priced. I read the reviews of others who complained about the squeaking noise and, yes, this item is shipped without lubrication between the weight sleeve and the bar itself; and yes, it does squeak. But a spray of WD40 in each end fixed that problem and, voila, no squeaking.Quite a simple fix and, with no squeaking after the sprays of WD40 or any silicon lubricant, this is a well made, very reasonably priced, serious piece of gym equipment, comparable to bars that cost a multiple. So, if you are handy enough to spray lubricant into the space on each end where the color meets the bar, it is well worth it. If you cannot, well, don't buy this if you don't like to hear squeaks.

This curl bar is exactly what I have in my commercial gym. It's great value for money. There are some metal shavings and burrs that I needed to remove from the groves with needle nose pliers. That is my only complaint. The squeaky sound went away with a little WD-40.

Good grip and metal feel. The clips are cheap but I already have some. Overall, it holds up well and a good option if you don't want to buy something expensive
