I'm a fan of rice in all forms, and I have to say that this is the best Basmati rice I've ever had. It has long grains, a smooth texture, a nice nitty flavor and really impoves the flavor of every dish I've used it in. A lot of people think Basmati rice is only really suitable for Indian and maybe Thai dishes, but seriously, this is great for ANY dish from ANY culture, and the fact that it goes through so much less processing and artificial alteration than pretty much all other rices, I like the health aspect of it too. Highly recommended!

Opening this bag, I was greeted by the clean, fresh smell of good rice. I was impressed with the fact that while the grains are indeed long, i didn't see very many broken ones. This cooks easily and tastes very good. Even though the bag is recloseable, I find it safer to transfer it to another container for storage. The item page seems to say that it's organic although I can't find that stated anywhere on the actually bag, nor is there, of course, any organic certification.

I usually never stray from my tried and true short grain, sticky rice brand, but I have to say that trying this Parliament Gold Jumbo Extra Long Basmati Rice has really surprised me. It has a really nice nutty flavor, cooks rather quickly, and to perfection in my pressure cooker. I would say it has become tied with my favorite brand of sticky rice. I love rice on its own, with a little butter or a dash of some kind of flavoring sauce and hot sauce, yet I know it would make any rice dish yummy. This ten pound bag will last me a while, and it will be on my repurchase list. Highly recommended!
