Gap-closing textbook
I must give credit to White Rose Maths – it's been an absolute godsend for us! With my child needing some homeschooling due to health issues, this workbook has truly been a lifesaver, especially in light of the disruptions caused by COVID.The layout is incredibly user-friendly, and the explanations are clear and concise – even for us parents! It's been a joy to witness my child's confidence soar as they tackle the math problems within. Additionally, it's reassuring to know that the content aligns seamlessly with what's being taught in schools. It certainly makes our homeschooling routine feel more aligned with the curriculum. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I highly recommend giving this workbook a go. It's proven to be an invaluable resource for us!

Follows sequence pupils follow in class.
I use these to supplement tutoring materials and pupils seem to like familiar format.

My son using this book to support his learning in school.
My son using this book to support his learning in school. A good product but the parent needs to use the QR code or website to check the answers.

Good practice book BUT the online answer scheme…
Helpful book to consolidate what is being taught in school (if the scheme is white rose) HOWEVER, beware of incorrect answers within the online mark scheme… hopefully there are not many more mistakes!

Really good practice for the Whilte Rose scheme
The media could not be loaded. This is a video review - far better for me to show you what I'm talking about as I explain rather than just write about it without giving you appropriate context. The book itself is really well designed and is set out exactly as the White Rose scheme is taught in Primary schools - as a Year 5 Primary School teacher up till a couple of years ago, I know the ins and outs of the White Rose scheme and I go into plenty of detail in the video. You'll need to work together with your child - don't just give them the book and hope that'll make them better at maths. You don't have to get through all the questions in every unit (some of the later questions get tricky) but you should definitely give them a go and try to build your child's resilience so that they gradually get less and less fazed by questions where it's not immediately apparent what they're being asked to do. These are the types of questions they'll be facing in their assessments, so you aren't helping them by pretending they don't exist. And finally, never, never tell your child "I'm no good at maths".

More suited for the more able child
I brought these booked to help my daughter over the summer. I purchased the year 2 book, even though she was moving into year 3, to go over some of the concepts she had struggled with over the year. I felt the book was over complicated and comparing to using the White Rose worksheets off the website, a lot harder.

Perfect for home schooling
White Rose is used by some schools and there is no doubt about the quality of these books, but at under a fiver??!!! I must say kudos to White Rose for making home schooling much easier and affordable. Those who struggles with home schooling (or extra home tuition after school) normally have an issue with what curriculum to cover, and this book answers that question. The questions build from easy to difficult, rather than plunging straight on to the tough ones that are normally expected of an exam sitting.I was hoping also to find such books on other subjects from White Rose but unfortunately no luck.
