The card works exactly as it says - plug it in, switch it on and it boots up freemcboot without any additional work. Additional software is also included, including such as OPL which allows you to load stored ISOs from a USB, or HDD if you have one. Only comment to make on this is that the OPL version is very out of date, but fortunately this is easy to rectify by loading the up-to-date version onto USB and loading it using UlaunchElf, a program which is included on the card. The most up to date version of OPL is vastly superior, as it allows use of DS3/DS4 controllers via USB, as well as virtual memory cards to save games to USB storage. Having done some research online before purchasing, I was concerned that using USB storage to play my games from would be slow since the PS2 was made long before the days of USB 2.0, never mind 3.0. But I have had no problems so far running Crash Wrath of Cortex, Half-Life, The Sims and Crash Tag Team Racing. Load times were quite slow when I played Conflict: Vietnam, although I can't remember if they were just slow anyway back in the day. I haven't had any luck with PS1 games but I may get it working yet. All in all, a good product well worth the price. Could be improved by including more up-to-date versions of included software, but since this is so easily rectified I still give this 5 stars.

I purchased the kaico free mcboot to play back up copies of my ps2 games with the disc loader. I only needed to select the disc loader once now I just put a disc in and it boots itself. It is a good way to protect original copies of games. I use it with a kaico hdmi adapter and the picture quality is about as good as a ps2 will get . Would highly recommend the hdmi adapter too

It works as advertised other than OPL not being on the selection list by default and you have to go into the uLaunchelf menus and boot it from there which is very tedious. I would use HDLoader but it never picks up my games "Known issue with the program not the mcboot" and OPL is superior in all ways anyway just annoying its not on the list by default.

Good with caveats: - OPL is v1.2.0 (so the description and other reviews saying it's 0.9.3 are outdated) but this is a fork rather than the official 1.1.0 stable, which is an interesting choice by the vendor. You can always replace with 1.1.0 if you like, but... - Storage is pretty much at capacity so make a backup of 1.2.0 somewhere else first (e.g. USB stick FAT32) just in case because you won't fit both versions side-by-side. - If you use memory card slot 2, the OPL menu item won't appear because the default config assumes slot 1 and you need to edit `FMCB_CFG.ELF` to map the OPL path to any MC.

Does what it should so far, although I don't have the resources to test all its features. However, there is only around 1.1MB of free space after FMCB and its associated files are loaded on the card. While I don't expect the McBoot data AND 8MB of space, a note in the description would have been well received. Had I known that the card is already 80% full I would have had good reason to buy the bigger card offered by the same seller. Gran Turismo 4 requires 1.4MB of space so, as it's the main reason I recommissioned my PS2, I am annoyed that I now need a second memory card.

Ottimo prodotto, facile da usare, ma necessita di un piccolo aggiornamento Recensione: Ho acquistato questo prodotto e sono rimasto molto soddisfatto. È facile da usare e i giochi si caricano perfettamente da chiavetta USB, a patto che sia formattata in FAT32. La memory card ha diverse applicazioni utili pre-installate, il che è un grande vantaggio. L'unico appunto che mi sento di fare riguarda la versione di OPL (Open PS2 Loader) inclusa: ho trovato la versione "10th Anniversary" del 2017 che, purtroppo, non funzionava molto bene con diversi giochi. Dopo aver aggiornato OPL alla versione 1.1.0, la situazione è completamente cambiata. Ora il caricamento dei giochi è perfetto e non ho riscontrato problemi. Attenzione per i meno esperti: L'aggiornamento di OPL non è un'operazione banale. Richiede un minimo di competenza, dato che si lavora direttamente sui file della memory card. Se non si presta attenzione, si rischia di eliminare file sbagliati, perdere OPL o, nel peggiore dei casi, cancellare l'intero sistema FreeMcBoot, rendendo la memory card inutilizzabile. In sintesi, è un ottimo prodotto che consiglio a tutti, ma tenete a mente che un piccolo aggiornamento di OPL è fortemente raccomandato per ottenere il massimo della compatibilità.
