Great HDD, just be aware of potential issues
I bought one of these drives about a year ago and it has been rock solid the whole time, it is really quick for a "green" class of drive and can sustain over 110MB/s sequential reads and writes and is a supremely quiet piece of kit, and has performed perfectly as a NAS/HTPC drive, and I have bought 2 more to go into a raid5 array. However, it has an issue that desktop users should be acutely aware of, the drive has limited/non existent ecc protection, so if a write is corrupted, the drive will simply not correct the damaged data and will continue on as though there isn't a problem, the reason for this is because the drive is meant for DVR/Surveillance usage rather than data storage for a desktop, and in those cases a few incorrect pixels are more acceptable than dropped and missing frames in recorded video and so to prevent missing frames the drive will deliberately ignore errors in favour of capturing everything being sent to it. If you're planning on using it in a NAS device like I am, it is vital that you carefully monitor S.M.A.R.T. for read/write errors and if you're using Linux like I am then set up a cron job to run the scrub command on the drive periodically just to be sure that errors don't corrupt your data, if you don't know what those things mean then buy a WD green for mass storage or a WD Red for NAS use unless you are happy to live with the risks that a lack of ecc creates. Aside from that, the drive is excellent and well worth the money, and if you can work around the potential issue or you are planning on using the drive for a Sky+ HD box upgrade then I highly recommend it.

Very old expensive paperweight
I'm not even going to take it out of the antistatic bag... the manufacture date is 30 Jun 2016... almost 10 years old!!!! This is a dinosaur in the HDD world. No indication of how old this is on item description before purchase - 1, 2, year ok, but 10 year?!!! This is a very expensive paperweight. If it even works it will surely die soon or already has many dead sectors.

Great HD for internal or external use
Great HD, for internal or external (backup/storage) use. Can be formated for use with any system (Linux, Mac, Windows). Will last for ages if not droped or hit with a hammer (;-))

Perfect New Hard Drive to double the capacity of your PVR at least cost and promptly supplied
I have been looking for an identical, other than capacity, Internal Hard Drive to upgrade my new 2020 TV Personal Video Recorder (PVR) from 1Tb or 2Tb - and this is it. The specification of this HD is EXACTLY the same as the one supplied in the PVR , Western Digital /Enterprise/SATA/AVGP WD(10) EURX and designed for 24/7 runnning in a PVR. Like the HD it replaced it is totally silent In running, only just mildly luke warm to touch and very easy to replace. Literally slide in slide out and a HD format through the PVRs software and off you go with twice the capacity at minimal cost and a spare 1Tb to use in a PC.. All of this only makes sense if the correctly specc’d HD is used at a good price and here I can highly recommend WEB-NF as the supplier. Despite being outside the UK (Germany) the HD arrived via DHL well packaged just four days later - great ! Western Digital PVR HD itself was absolutely brand new in a factory sealed static bag — HD manufactured only 3 months ago and having registered it using its serial number on the WD support website comes with a full 3 year warranty. If you want to double the capacity of your PVR at minimal cost then both the HD itself and the Supplier - WEB-NF — highly recommended !

Very happy with this.
After knocking my external hard drive off the desk, I was looking for a replacement for the one that didn't bounce. I saw the reviews and read all the 1, 2, 3 star ones and thought well I will try as I am a pensioner on a budget. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived, apart form the packaging, bubble wrap in an envelope! I opened it and found a nice new 2tb hard drive, no marks, by the looks of it never been used, so thought bonus. I installed it in to the enclosure, ran a few set up programs I have, partitioned it into 5 drives and am very happy with a nice, quiet, full working 2 2tb hard drive, am I glad I ignored the other reviews ? Yes, I would buy again and probably will as I have an old PC I am getting back up and running.

Apesar do pouco tempo de uso para atestar sua durabilidade o produto está funcionando prefeitamente.

HDD arrived defect became non functioning after format and partitioning ! The price (44 Euro) should have been a warning i guess. Returned the disc 30 days ago and payed 11.40 Euro post transport and they still have received nothing?? So I'm out of 55 Euro ? If so than I'm done with AMAZON !!

I bought the Western Digital 2 TB WD AV-GP SATA III Intellipower 64 MB Cache Bulk/OEM AV Hard Drive WD20EURX hard drive to increase the storage capacity of a TiVo Roamio OTA. I’ve read in other reviews, some buyers are receiving used or refurbished hard drives. I did not want to install a used or refurbished hard drive. I contacted the seller, TNTelectron, and I was assured the drive shipped would be new. The hard drive I received was manufactured in May 2014, over two years ago, and I was concerned a used drive had been shipped. Using CrystalDiskInfo, I accessed the hard drive’s SMART data. The disc health is good and here are two pertinent readings: Power on Count: 5 Power on Hours: 0 The SMART data show the drive has only been powered on 5 times previously and hasn’t even reached one hour of use. I am pleased but I wonder where this drive has been for the past two years and if it’s not actually refurbished with the drive data erased during the process. In any event, the price was good, the warranty from the seller is 1-year replacement, and, as of this writing, 30 days since installing the hard drive, everything is working well. After installing the hard drive and powering on the TiVo Roamio, the replacement hard drive made quite a bit of noise. I was concerned I did something wrong but after a minute or so the drive quieted down. Now, if I get close to the TiVo I can hear the spindle spinning but it’s very faint and not an issue for me. The drive has been working quietly for almost 30 days and no issues. I’m pleased with the hard drive and the seller, TNTelectron. Below are some comments regarding installing the Western Digital WD AV-GP 2TB hard drive into the TiVo Roamio OTA. TiVo has apparently made some changes over time. I have read elsewhere different size tools have been used. I used the following tools with the TiVo Roamio OTA manufactured in April 2015: T8 Torx screwdriver for the back of the unit screw. T10 Torx screwdriver for the hard drive and the hard drive rails Flat head screwdriver to gently pry the cover away from the base to gain access Installing the drive was actually very easy. Disconnect the TiVo from all the cables and power. Remove the screw on the back in the center of the unit with a T8 torx screwdriver Gently use a flat head screwdriver to pry the cover away from the base. To remove the cover, I gently pulled up the cover enough to create a small gap between the cover and the base at the back of the unit. I inserted the flathead screwdriver at the edge and gently rotated it left and right and proceeded to go around the edges. As I did, the cover released from the base. Once the cover is off, the hard drive is visible. Use a T10 torx screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the drive to the unit. Disconnect the power and data cable from the hard drive and remove the hard drive. Next, remove the rails from the hard drive using the T10 screwdriver. Now, attach the rails to the replacement hard drive. Attach the power and data cable to the replacement hard drive. Place the replacement hard drive into the unit and tighten the screws previously removed. Place the cover back over the unit. I first made sure the clip in the front of the unit matched up and then the rest of the cover easily clicked into place. Reconnect the TiVo to start the new setup process. TiVo Roamio automatically formatted the drive. All One Passes (i.e. Season Passes) and preferences will need to be set again. According to the System Information, I now have 316 hours of HD recording capacity.
