You Probably shouldn’t leave bathing sand in your hamsters cage so someone told me but I feel really bad taking it out. My hamster has a wee routine, it’s quite funny really. It’s like my routine when I get out of bed.He gets up, off to his potty for a wee wee and straight in to his bath for a wash. I have never used hamster shampoo on my hamster or even washed him. They say you shouldn’t as you wash all of the natural oils out of their coat but even so he never smells. I know it’s the hamster sand as before I purchased it he did have a little whiff of wee but now he’s whiff free. He’s a bit of a sweaty betty so when he gets out of bed he’s all damp and his fur is stuck to his little body but a minute in the sand bath and he’s as fluffy as a baby bird and he smells lovely and fresh.I would definitely recommend this sand rather than putting them through hell giving them a water bath and stripping their natural oils. Give it a go and I promise you, you won’t go back to wet washing.Do shop around on here though as some places charge stupid money for it. I think it’s around £2.25 in Pets at Home at the moment as I think it’s on special offer but you can get good deals on here to if you do your homework.I buy it as soon as I see special offers and stock up.

bought this for my dwarf hamster as i read they like sand baths so decided to buy it for him...& he's not interested 😂 it's nice & soft but it is dusty but apart from that i can't say anything else
