I love RootRiot cubes. Absolutely great for seeds and clones. They come nice and moist, they’ll stay that way for around 2 weeks and then only need soaking every week till your plants are nice and strong.

I use a Root Riot cube tray every spring to propagate my tomato seeds prior to planting on. Results over the past decade and more have been very good. The seedlings grow sturdily and rapidly. This is a simple and effective way to propagate seeds and is recommended highly.

Not a big fan of this. I did not have a great deal of success, particularly with cuttings (despite using Clonex) and it is difficult to put very small seeds in the sponge-like cubes. A neighbouring tray of soil with seedlings did not show signs of fungus but the Root Riot ones did (I resolved this by running a fan for an hour a day). I certainly had expected a higher rate of success and greater ease of use.
