Opened it knowing I have three other Guerlain Vetivers on my counter. It took a Guerlain rep to tell me about the way fragrances, like wines, or any crop, is dependent upon the particular environment in which the ingredients were grown. Some years simply yield a scent which some people love and others might not think is so great. Each year is different, slightly or more dramatically. I bought my first Guerlain Vetiver at Jacqueline's in San Francisco in 1982 or 83. It was the big bottle Cologne, and I still prefer the big bottles to the smaller ones offered today. For me, Guerlain is a simple choice, but there are many very good ones. Find what you like and Enjoy !

Bought this for my hubby, strong but great smell. Value for money

When sprayed directly on the skin, I found this fragrance far too extravagant for general modern-day use. Even the lightest spray excluded it from anything I would want to wear in public these days, day or night.However, a light spray on clothing turned out to be very nice indeed. I look forward to incorporating Vetiver into general business and evening use in this way.

I'm a fan of older traditional men's scents, and it doesn't get much more classic than this. Geurlain's take on vetiver is very straight forward-its a mix of spice, sweetness, and there's a slight menthol/mint on the back end. It wears well day or night, summer, fall, winter, and spring. It has great sillage, longevity, and its an all around great sense.

Not what I expected at all. I have Vetever essential oil and this doesn't smell anything like it. Very strong, to me not a favorable aroma. I may just use it as a bathroom spray. The smell lasts forever, which isn't good.

I've had this one for a decade and still find it intriguing.Lingering smell is very refreshing even after the shirt comes back from the laundry I get a faint hint of it during steaming.And in terms of rating and use for me it slots in well as a workwear right after my Versace Eros.

It is said to be a classic. I find it one-dimensional. I will use over the course of many summers in the office but sadly for me it does not spark joy.
