After searching for a replacement for my BMW iDrive knob for years and only finding strange and awkward fixes, I finally came across the Jaroxn Compatible with BMW iDrive Knob Button Replacement, and it's amazing! It fits perfectly and looks like original equipment. The installation process was easy. I recommend removing the original knob very carefully with a hard plastic knife to avoid scratching the original metal. Also, pay attention to the orientation of the original knob so you can replace it exactly as it was. The part comes in from the top and has a tiny O-Ring; be sure to clean it and carefully reinstall it. Reassemble the parts and push them into place; if everything is oriented properly, it requires no strength, just a little push, and voila, you're done! That was the only damaged part in the interior of my 2013 BMW 550 Xi, and I'm so glad I replaced it. My interior looks fantastic once again.

My original buttons had become scratched. The replacements look just like OEM... they transmit thorough the orange back-light in the letters, and the finish texture is just like OEM. It also comes with a few more buttons, so if you like "map" better than "nav" you can choose it. Don't try to replace these without removing the controller from the center console. With it in situ, the buttons can't be gotten at from the bottom to pry them out. With the controller out, they are easy to pop up and replace.

Install was pretty straight forward. I'd suggest and angled pick tool to undo some of the clips on the oem buttons. Removing the knob cover can be tricky without damaging the outer polished metal ring. What worked for me was to stab the original plastic knob cover with a pick tool by twisting the pick back and forth while applying pressure. It's pretty easy to get the pick to pierce through the cover that way. Once it's through, the cover is pretty easy to lever out. This way you aren't prying on or damaging anything (besides the cover you are replacing anyway; just be careful not to pierce too deeply into the cover and mess anything up inside. You only need to get the tip one or two millimeters through the cover to lever it out.

Very disappointed!!! I was really looking forward to using it. I tried to make it fit, and it broke, so I can’t return it. I was hurt that I had to throw it in the trash. $30 down the drain.
