Great toslink cable
Very sturdy well made toslink cable...used to link to my new TV to my bluesound node (and audio system)! It plugged in and worked without any faults or issues and sounded the same as the ugreen cable it replaced (which unfortunately was too short)! So I'm happy to recommend this product to those needing longer length cables!

Well made product but why the faux Gold finish?
Bought the 4 meter length to connect my Brennan B2 player to my HiFi system and it proved entirely satisfactory for this purpose. However, I'm at a loss to understand why non electrical conducting parts of such connectors are given that faux Gold finish? My understanding is that digital signals are sent only via the central optical core and those plated- on - plastic parts make no sense as the Toslink plug enters a plastic socket on most equipment and so plastic meets plastic and no electrical contact is made. Anway I realised I needed a 5 meter cable with Toslink at both ends so bought that from ebay for £2.99p and that didn't have those 'plated' bits.

Purchased for echo studio
Bought to connect echo studio to my TV to improve sound when watching a film. I've only tested it out when it arrived so will update this review in future if needed. Lead appears good quality and worked well with no sound drop outs as other reviews have mentioned. A big improvement on the TV speakers, especially for watching a film. For under £10 I would definitely recommend. Update: I have used this about 6 times now and works perfectly. Really pleased

No ground-loop, no
I have bought this as a replacement for a 3.5mm -> rca cable and recieved it today. Although the old lead was 'fine', plugging in the optical lead has been a breath of fresh air! Immediately, my laptop seems to have a greater depth of sound with bass less muddied by long electrical cables and high's less obscured by the cheap DAC you find in most MP3 players and laptops. It was a really easy process too - provided your player has an optical output, this is just a case of removing the protective caps and plugging one end into each device. An added benefit (although I'm sure this won't help everyone), there are no problems with ground-loop hum! If you normally hear a low frequency hum when nothing is playing or you are playing at low volumes, this is because of a difference in the ground level on your amp and your source. Provided your amp has an integrated optical DAC (it takes an optical lead without needing another box between the source and the amp), there is no electrical connection between the player and the amp so there can be no stray ground currents! My one concern is the strain relief on the cable at each end - I'm not sure how much of a battering it will really take so perhaps this is not a cable for you if you expect to be unplugging and changing your setup every day. You might end up needing a replacement pretty quickly. If not, all optical cables are pretty much equal so the sound quality and longevity of this cable will be all you need!

Value for money, good quality
Nothing to dislike - it worked exactly as I had expected with my Chromecast Audio puck and performed flawlessly. Good product, good price, good buy.

Interesting Stuff
After months of experimenting with the sound of my system : Asus Xonar essence stx with Bryson Op Amps Audiolab 6000a 2 X Tibo PA150 Rubycon Recap Wharfedale Diamond 240's I never felt totally satisfied with the sound, I couldn't quite put a finger on it but it just failed to satisfy no matter what I seemed to do. I tried just about everything, speaker placement, different media centres on my computer, different types of files, finally arriving at the best for me being the Flac type files. I went totally back to basics using RCA Interconnects between xonar and audiolab and still not totally satisfied I invested in a good quality 75ohm digital coax. I had done my homework on the internet and this seemed to be the most popular choice. For me it was no better than the RCA Interconnects, nor no worse, maybe just a little more detailed but not as weighty. In desperation I purchased this mini toslink to toslin optical and I honestly didnt expect any improvement. I was wrong, This by far is the best way to connect a digital stereo output to a digital stereo input , in my opinion. I arent saying its the best way for dolby digital, dts, home cinema set ups, I cant comment on that.

Very well-made optical cable with solid signal protection. I use it to connect my TV to my Dynaudio Phantom speakers and it works perfectly - crystal clear audio with no signal issues. The nylon braiding feels durable and premium, and the 3m length is ideal for my setup. Great value for money - highly recommend for anyone needing a quality optical audio cable without overpaying!
