I'm a DIYS
I read this book and learned how to fiberglass repair my 1967 golf cart. It is heard toward boats but fiberglass and bonding is all about knowledge and techniques and this book has it all.

Great book
I am one of those who really likes this book. It is an especially good book for one beginning with fiberglass. One reviewer said that most of this information is available through West Systems, but I'm not so sure. I've read both and much prefer Aiken's book. For example, Aiken takes the reader through comparisons of using polyester versus epoxy; West Systems doesn't do that. Aiken describes lots of products, and of course, West doesn't do that. The West Systems information is first rate. I just like this better and it's worth the price of the book in my opinion.Aiken's book is clear, straight forward, and covers the waterfront for repairs big and small. I highly recommend this book and like it a lot.

Pretty good but it’s a knock off
Overall this book is very similar to the West System publication, I looked up the publication dates and West System was earlier. Clearly the earlier publication was taken as a template for this book because even the illustration style is effectively identical. You’ll find a product line that effectively also copies the West System line for less $ on this site. If you can open a business account at West Marine you’ll probably get a better deal there. If, like me, you just need to fix some fiberglass (in my case on a vintage trailer) you’ll be better off with the knock off products from here because this can get pricey. As to the book, if you own one don’t bother with the other as they are near identical. There are complaints that the West System book only covers their system but it’s a good enough system to have spawned copycats, and it’s not going to take much research figuring out what similar products you can use instead.

Excellent Book For Beginners
I am someone who knows virtually noting about fiberglass. I was looking for a book that would explain the subject and explain the steps on how things are accomplished. I looked over MANY books here at Amazon and finally found this one. Going primarily on the reviews I bought it and was very happy that I did. It does a great job of explaining the various types of fiberglass and how to work with them. I haven't had the time to obtain the materials, but I feel confident that I'll be able to now work with fiberglass because of the information in this book. In my opinion this book is perfect for beginners into the world of fiberglass. I'm looking forward to getting started!

Good starting place.
Quick easy starting place. You will need to go elsewere for additional information but this will give you enough to know where to go next. Depending what you're trying to do, you might get buy with the additional information at one of the epoxy manufactures sites.

Project Bok
I have a FG body '34 Ford coupe project, so I needed info on glass work, the materials, the applications, the tricks, and the expectations. It helped me have confidence to do my own body work and so far, so good. Great book!
