Stairs Staircase Handrail Banister Rail Support Kit 3.6m Satin Stainless Steel 40mm

When I fell down the stairs in my new home installing a handrail became a top priority! (Fortunately X-rays showed I hadn't broken any bones.) This handrail has proved to be a good choice. When installed it was strong and aesthetically pleasing. The design is excellent. It's adaptable to various scenarios. I was forced to attach it to a wooden banister rather than the opposite wall because plasterboard was used in a section of the wall opposite. Also there was an awkward protrusion above the banister half way down the stairs. But because the rail came in three 120cm sections I was able to cut the top part of the rail to size to work round the obstruction. I used a hack saw to cut the rail to make sure it was perfectly straight, using masking tape wrapped round the tube as a guide. Stainless steel is very hard, but patience paid off! I suggest using a set square to make sure the brackets are properly aligned. I am happy to recommend this handrail. It's good value too.

I particularly like the way that the individual pieces join together. It feels very strong unlike most of the kit built products I’ve used in the past. It goes together well and I would say that it was made easier to fit as I had fitted a dado rail prior to installing the handrail so it was much easier to work out where the bannister rail would go relative to the stairs

Excellent professional looking hand-rail. Definitely looks the business. Just a few pointers though. I ordered the 3.6 mtr length but when we installed it, it was actually longer and we had to cut it a bit. Something that is possible, but boy is it tough metal to cut. Certainly shows the quality. Shame we had to cut it but maybe we were sent the wrong size?, I don't know. The other issue was the brackets. They have little grub screws (a little allen key is supplied) that grip the handrail but two of the grubs screws weren't even in the brackets. They were loose and not even in a bag or anything. I nearly lost them because at first I didn't know what they were because they were so small. Someone didn't bother to fit them into the brackets fully (or at all) and could of led to a pretty big issue. Just be mindful and be careful when you open the box. Apart from that the thing is fab looking and really well built.

The handrail comes in sections but is not difficult to erect. However if I purchased another I would chose a handrail which came in one solid length which would make installation easier. That said this is a good quality product at a reasonable price

The handrails now they're up look really good, I got the satin finish as I thought the chrome finish would show up all the hand marks, -but that's a personal choice only.The instructions are easy to follow and I managed to put up two of them on my own. As long as you don't rush the job it's easy and the second rail went up much quicker.Definitely recommend!
