Aqara motion detector V2
The Aqara motion detector is very small and offers great features for a minimal price. Item arrived very quickly and was easily paired in my ZigBee network. It was placed on the front porch and sends a notification in Home Assistant when motion is detected. It presents three sensors, light, motion, and presence. There are sensitivity levels and delay to adjust as well. I have noticed some of these Aqara batteries are low out of the box and may have been on the shelf for some time. Overall a great product.

Great option for HA
I only use Home Assistant these days, done with the creepy factor of Google and Alexa, Siri is also not far behind. Love being able to add these to a zigbee hub of your choosing. Great detection, has a lux sensor (plant freaks :D) and even options to adjust their sensitivity, which is great if you pass through an area frequently rather than loiter.get them while they have deals, you shouldn't need to spend any more than $20 a unit

A Huge Leap in Battery Life - HAHAHA
I've been completely captivated by the motion detector I purchased five weeks ago, and I'd love to share my experience. After a blissful couple of weeks, the detector, snug in the corners of my garage, unexpectedly stopped working. Hoping it was just finding its perfect spot, I quickly re-paired it with the Aqara switch. To my surprise, the battery level was a mere 19%, leaving me a bit concerned.Thinking it might be the batteries, I swapped them out for shiny new Eveready ones last week, aiming to revive the magic. With excitement, I rejoined it with Home Assistant, gave it a fresh start, and voila – connectivity was lost. The battery level, which joyfully danced at 100% just last week, now languished at 33%. It felt like a twist in a love story.I even tried updating the firmware with an Aqara Hub, but alas, no updates were available. Now, surrounded by my collection of Aqara devices – switches, sensors, a Doorbell Video, and a Smart Lock – I can't help but express my disappointment. The promise of a "Huge Leap in Battery Life" and a dreamy "5-Year Battery Life" seems to have taken a detour from my reality. Oh, how the journey with technology can be both thrilling and challenging!--Update--I checked the battery today and much to my surprise; it is now being reported at 100%. I feel much better about the battery life. Still wondering why it reported 33% last week. Oh well

Great value!
Aqara provides a great piece of hardware for a great price. It has become a go to line for me that integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant. I installed one unit in the center of a 2-car garage. It monitors doors on both sides perfectly. Thanks!

Tiny yet powerful
The sensor was tiny and it was so easy to install anywhere. It has great motion detection from at least 15ft away.Wish they come back in stock so I can get more. Seems like Aqara is discontinuing these?

Immediate issues with Home Assistant
As a long time user of a multitude of Aqara devices, I somewhat blindly purchased this motion sensor given I have multiple other Aqara motion sensors and they all work great. I figured, oh this one is the P1, and it's the "updated version" with long battery life, what's not to dig about that?I paired this thing with Home Assistant, which is running HAOS on a dedicated Dell micro tower with the SkyConnect Zigbee coordinator. At the time of this review, I was on Home Assistant 2023.8.1. Immediately after pairing it goes unavailable for a bit, then comes back on its own, but it never once reported battery life nor did it ever detect motion. I could wave my hand an inch from the sensor to no avail -- it simply never detected anything. I figured, meh, bum unit, let's try another. But to my surprise, it was the same exact thing. I thought... how on earth??Despite being frustrated by this, I knew the regular Aqara motion sensors (not the P1 version) would work since I have about 10 of them and they're all problem free, so I returned this P1 gizmo and ordered two more regular Aqara motion sensors. Bingo -- paired it, waved my hand, and immediately it noted that it detected motion. We're back in working order now!I can only assume an update, or something, may come up in the future where the P1's play nice. I spoke to a user online who claimed they have two P1's and they work totally fine on the same exact version of HA that I'm using, so your mileage may vary. I just can't shake the constant troubleshooting I did where, consistently, this thing just didn't work. I mean, not even a single time did it behave despite all I tried. At any rate, I almost don't care, as the regular sensors work just fine and I have no complaints about them. Figured I'd toss this review up as a word of caution for anybody in the Home Assistant world scoping these out. Maybe you'll have better luck than I did, but for me, it simply didn't work and that was a no-go for me.

Functionality
I have several of these by Aqara and they all work great. I will say pairing them in to Home Assistant is easy but making a couple of timing changes is a bit cumbersome, but can be done and only needs to be done once.

I feel secure
I feel much more secure now that my home has this motion sensor. It definitely detects motion easily and I love that I can use many different settings whether I'm home or away etc. etc. It's also sooo small and cute!
