MARCO MADE EASY: A Three-Star Chef Makes It Simple

Nice easy cook book
Nice stocking filler/present .Lovely well illustrated glossy pages with easy recipes. If you are wanting to replicate fine dining or create show stopping dishes then this book is not for you. Personally I say thanks to Marco for a cookery book for ordinary people which doesn’t involve going out buying ingredients you would never normally find in your cupboard , will never use again and probably never heard of before! There are too many of those books around (don’t you agree Mr Oliver?😂)

Tasty simple dishes.
Bought this for my sister, who said there were several recipes that she would be able to make good use of in this book, and the simplicity of the tasty dishes are a big plus. The sections of this book begin with Starters, then go onto Shellfish, Fish, Meat, Poultry and Desserts. I've given four out of five stars, because as is with any recipe book, there are always a number of dishes that will never get made.

Great book
Don't be put off thinking these meals are going to be complex, they may look stunning, but are very easy, any decent home cook should be able to manage most if not all of these recipes. If you know what Reduction, Deglazing and Caramelisation are, then this book will be a welcome addition inyour kitchen. If you like to cook, (and eat), produce little works of art on a plate, quickly, easily, without too many ingredients, then this bookis definitely worth a place on your book shelf.

great book
A really motivating bookShort easy to do recepies. Sooo easy to do will make any dinner party look special. Each dish is described very simply on less than one page. A great variety. Some amazing ideas for steaks! But so much more. What really makes it special is that the sleeve notes are acurate when they say that the dishes will take longer to clean than to cook!Pesented in a really non intimidating way. Even the most nervous or inexperienced cook will sail through the menus. Great one Marco!

Finally great food, everyone can cook
I have got lots of cooking books from a variety of chefs, including Julia Childs, Heston, Jamie and Nigela, and this is the better than anything the other chefs have produced. All the other cooking books really only have a handleful of recipes i actually want to make, whereas 'Marco Made Easy' has only a handful of recipies i wouldnt want to make. Also, all the recipies are dishes that seem like they have come straight out of one of his restaurants, which is somthing that is clearly missing from the other cooking books. If there is a fault it would probably be with the desert section which doesnt have any chocolate dishes, but to be fair that is the only floor as the rest of the book is a sensation.

Bit underwhelming
For sure the recipes in this book are good but for many the steps are repeated. This was Marco going through a minimalist 'keep it simple and about the produce' phase so don't expect much revelation except for some good sauces, there aren't many wholesome 'home food' dishes here, more like restaurant food simplified. Half the recipes are steaks and almost all the desserts are boiled fruit of some sort.

Disappointing effort from a chef with a big reputation
Firstly, the presentation is rather cheap: flimsy cover, thin pages and the recipes seem rather rushed, almost like bullet points. While this may suit some, I expected more passion from MPW.Secondly, and more importantly, there is very little variety. There are over ten recipes for steak. Steak with this. Steak with that. We get it Marco. You like steak. And the same applies to lamb, pork and chicken. There's no soup. Or pasta. Or even minced beef dishes (except steak tartare, which, unless you like raw mince, is a no-go).Every main meal recipe, is either fish or meat. So if you're a veggie, or even if you occasionally like a non-meat meal, forget buying this. Then there's the desserts. All except one are fruit desserts. And not one has pastry, so don't expect pies or tarts. If you like poached pears or peaches then great. But if you're looking for caramel, cream, chocolate, biscuit bases or good old-fashioned stodge, then this book ain't for you.I was SO looking forward to this book coming out, as I am a big fan of his Little Black Book website. But I'm rather disappointed. There are plenty of cook books out there made with more variety and passion.Sorry Marco!

Enjoyable.
A good practical book. Easy to understand with lots of hints and tips, although this book could have a few more recipes.

The Chef Helps Us In The Kitchen
Marco Pierre White was the youngest chef to earn 3 star Michelin status. In this fine book, he shows us how to cook simply and well. Finally a cookbook, you can read, understand, and most importantly, use. Wonderful to have such an incredible resource in your home.
