Great curry paste!
I love Japanese curries! This paste tastes great and is very easy to use. I usually follow the simple suggested recipe on the back (carrots, potatoes and onion, but use chicken as the meat). The sauce is mild in heat which is great when you have kids. I just stick a bit of chilli sauce on mine if I fancy it. I can normally get 4 full woks out of this pack which makes it good value.

Delicious, Crowd-Pleasing Curry - Always Gets Compliments
We use House Java Vegetable Curry to make chicken curry and it is absolutely delicious. We pair it with the spiced chicken-in-a-bag products, cooking the chicken according to the bag instructions first, then preparing the curry block separately and adding it to the chicken. The results are consistently amazing. The flavour is rich, comforting and perfectly balanced, and it always goes down a treat. Every time we serve it, we get compliments from family and friends, and people often ask for the recipe. It’s quickly become a favourite in our household. Really easy to use, great value in the 1kg size, and tastes fantastic. Highly recommend if you want a reliable, delicious curry that feels homemade but takes very little effort. 🍛

Best Japanese curry ever!
We are absolutely loving it! The brand is our family favorite. It’s a little spicier than the version from the same brand we would usually get, but flavor is basically the same. It can be ‘down-spiced’ with some milk and a bit of honey if truly necessary, but that’s up to taste. It’s much cheaper to buy in this big chunk and the curry ‘block’ can be stored in fridge/freezer for longer. You can also adjust the thickness of the sauce, to your own taste by using more or less curry. We even do like it with fluffy white bread for tea. We have bought this before and will continue to do so, unless we can get our flavor from the same brand directly from Japan through friend/family. For all those who like the Japanese style curries and Katsu-curry, this is the best & cheapest option available abroad from Japan. Our children absolutely love it!

Hmmmm! Yum.
I took a fancy to ordering this as I saw someone using it on a tv cooking competition. I normally use the jars or large packets in maybe Korma or similar mild curry. I've never seen it before, so yep I'm in there looking for it. This seems to be it, as it does come in like a cube block. I find it is a bit hard to crumble so I cut it into the meal halfway through with scissors as it cooks and mix in, it works. Then I just add the water to make as liquidy as I prefer. Seems to be about one cube or less per person. Thickens up too. Try for yourself and see how it is for your taste. If you find it a bit samey, try adding a bit of ginger, garlic or worcester sauce to zest up. I did also order another brand but I have to say this one for me is better and a little sweeter. I did order the kilo size and it is massive so err on the side of caution and put a smaller amount in and taste as you go. This big size will last forever but for a family will go quicker, just two of us.

The best you can buy
This is without a doubt the most authentic curry block on here and in what I have tried, the market. Some people have left reviews saying it isn’t great because it isn’t spicy, I’m sure they say the same thing about milk, spice doesn’t equal nice. Also a few saying it taste like chip shop curry sauce, it doesn’t. I had worked in the hospitality industry for over a decade and worked in a restaurant where we specialised in Japanese cuisine and this block was the base for the Japanese curry. Not to mention this is made in Japan and eaten by it’s people. The main gripe here for people seems to be as it’s not super spicy it’s not nice. Don’t let other people’s poor pallets sway you. If cooked correctly this is packed with flavour and rivals the curry sauce at Wagamama’s.

A simple meal my fussy eater will eat
A have a daughter that was an extreme fussy eater but has started to expand what she will eat but even then if not quite how she expects something she’ll reject it. These mean I can easily make a meal just as she likes it and she’ll eat it happily everytime. Not very traditional but all I do is add two blocks to a can of coconut milk and boil until they have dissolved and the sauce thickens and serve over some breaded chicken with rice and some cucumber.
