YXQ DC 12V 16W Solenoid Electric Door Lock Open Frame Type Cabinet with Mount Board 1.3Amp

I ordered this because it was larger than others I could find. It's the perfect size solinoid.

Not great product. 1) When extended the tongue is not flush with the edge of the frame. As shown in the amazon pages there is about 1/4" of the slug protruding that is not diagonal. 2) There appears to be a problem extending the tongue when power is removed. The cover housing the electromagnetic is not secure to the base where it is mounted. I had to use cable ties to secure so the tongue properly extends when power is removed. 3) Unbelievable that the built-in screw heads protrude from the bottom of the base preventing a flush mounting to the surface being mounted on. Will try uxcell see if any better.

Great solid retraction and spring loaded return is quick. My only gripe is that the part that retracts doesn't go flush with the plate it moves within. Sticks out enough that I had to notch the jamb. It's made well enough, small for a standard entry door though it would work OK. More sized for a cabinet door or window.
