Stanley STA46053 Carpenters Squares

Great tool, very durable and easy to adjust the angle setting. I found that care must be given in setting to 90 as the adjuster can go slightly beyond but otherwise good. fits in my toolbelt perfectly and is lightweight so you don't even feel the weight of it carrying it all day.

Needed an adjustable square. This is nicely solid and measurements are deeply engraved. Would recommend.

This is a lovely square, with clear markings, and useful for a lot more than just roofing. Only gave 4 stars because I loved the old ally square which was a bit larger and more convenient for stairs and large section timberwork, but sadly not on the Stanley product list any more!

Best hand tool purchase for a long time,far cheaper.Really good square,far better than the traditional quick square where you have to pivot to set.Already used on a hand cut roof, which made setting up birds mouths a doddle.Also quick set up to find roof pitch’s.Haven't used hip and valley settings yet,I still used ready reckoner and measuring.It would be nice if the rafter runs were metric but not major issue.

Solid build that will never break. I like the fact that the numbers are pressed into the metal and will remain visible after the paint eventually rubs off.

Great tool but the arm goes down below 0, need to lift it up a fraction to be square, other than that it’s decent
