Love it (and clearing up some info in other reviews)
Reliable and cheap. I carry it everywhere and it consistently works. The only issue I have had is that the capstans do t take much resistance to stop turning so some tapes won’t play however it isn’t a common issue and changing the shell of the tape usually fixes it (most of my tales have sat in a garage for secession in poor storage so it’s probably just my issue). Also this is a feature not a bug so that the tape isn’t broken when it reaches the end.Microphone picks up noise of machine itself due to being embedded and I would’ve like a slot to plug in another but not a big deal.Other reviews have said that the recording button doesn’t work however I suspect it’s a user error. Tapes have anti recording protection to stop someone accidentally deleting their music. The recording button can’t be pressed unless the holes are taped over (there is a lever underneath that detects it) and the recording button can’t be pressed if the level is not pressed.Overall very pleased and well worth the money if planning to listen with headphones or a speaker (inbuilt speaker is low quality). Reliable device that I use all the time. Very portable, would recommend

Really good, would recomend.
Very good player/recorder, microphone is good quality, speaker is a tad on the tinny side but not too tinny where it's unbearable it has a good amount of bass on it to listen to your tapes. Makes good music recordings if you can switch to mono on a device like a tv and a few inches away from speaker and volume not turned up too much or otherwise it can result in distorting the recording.Only had one incident of a tape being eaten but diddn't happen again, so far so good, could of been that the tape had some slack on it and I haddn't realized. Radio is good. Have used this player on the bus before now. I would highly recomend you buy this if your on a low budget and you need a decent portable player/recorder.Takes 2 aa batteries and can also be powerd by usb which is also good. Had it a few months now and it has been a good player. I'm happy with my purchase.

Legacy tech.
Neat little player: runs off two AA batteries, which aren't supplied, but easily obtained. Wired earphones are supplied: the wire also functions as an FM aerial. The tape controls are simple and positive; a simple switch selects the FM/AM radio mode. Tuning is by a wheel: no preselects or auto-tune. Sound quality is reasonable, given the low-fi signal. The USB plug only supplies current, not signal output. No Bluetooth connection. As a simple cassette player, it's good within its limits. The recipient felt that it was perhaps 25% overpriced.

Happy Retro
I bought this beautifully made device to play old tapes on because it had an inbuilt radio. Its looks very retro. The sound maybe a little tinny but its an enjoyable and useful gadget to have with me. I've started to football commentary again as the other radio is long broken. Very happy with it.

Groove-e returned to Amazon.
Despite having my lovely old Walkman still working, I decided to buy a cheap casette player to check out a gift of a box of brand new language courses, now unsaleable with cassettes over cd, for either transfer or rubbish bin without putting my Walkman under too much stress. Firstly the only power adapter I didn't have in my collection was a 3v so had to use batteries. Nothing happened. Even having finally opened a brand new recent pack of batteries and inserted them...nothing happened. The play button depressed, but with the motor not running it meant the record button didn't depress and the stop button etc were really tiny for anyone with big hands or lacking in dexterity. So, having checked the tape was not damaged by using my Walkman, I really couldn't waste any more time on it and condsequently replaced it all in the original packaging and Amazon cardboard and sent it back. Of course it is a very cheap piece of kit but the buttons did seem very flimsy and I wouldn't imagine them working well for long, so I ordered another model that also has the transfer programme too. This was a similar price and is also pretty flimsy but it worked immediately and the buttons felt better, so I cannot imagine it was me doing anything wrong with the previous model. Today I had an email asking for a review from the Groove.e supplier. I doubt that it will be what they hoped for.

All as advertised. Cheap, cheerful and works.

Could be cheaper!
I recommend, it's do what should do and seems to be a good option compared with similars on sale. But made with miserable plastic, if you drop it will smash. The speaker tiny and has a bad quality as I expected. The earbuds is to throw away of course, but I tested and it's sounds pretty good with a good earplugs. Not sure about the tape player, didn't test it yet.
