McAlpine Basket Strainer Waste Plug BWSTSS-TOP Stemball Model- Pack of 2

I bought these to replace the ageing ones in my 10-year-old sink. Like most people, I was not sure which one to buy. This seller on Amazon has kindly provided an image describing all the relevant dimensions. So once I had measured up my own and verified they were the same I was good to make my purchase.Arrived via Prime the next day and went straight into the sink to test. The product exactly matches the provided dimensions so fitted my sink perfectly. The strainer is well-made and looks pretty strong - the spring loaded ball on the stem works well allowing the strainer to operate easily in either the up (strainer) or down (plug) positions. When down the rubber seal works as it should to hold the water in the sink.All in all, a very good product that I would recommend to anyone. Just take that little extra time to make sure it's the​ right size.It's really not fair to give a product a poor review because you didn't check the size!

I ordered several sink strainers from different suppliers and this was by far the best. Robust, thick steel, and item came ready to use - unlike others which were flimsy &needed assembling. 5 stars.

Came fast and in perfect new condition. Some more info to take into account before ordering - strainer size is 78mm, centre shaft do not unscrew (unlike mine), does retain water perfectly well in my sink, ball on shaft isn't in the middle like my strainer but it works fine. I love these because they fit my Rangemaster Cubix 1.5 bowl granite sink! I tried several others before coming to these, which described themselves as universal and looked like these in pictures, but they just didn't fit or look anything like the pictures. Although these aren't described as universal, the measurements are accurate and they are exactly as pictured. I will definitely use them again when I need replacements more replacement. The quality is good and the price is too.

Would have been perfect if it had been the same as the picture.After looking at loads of options on amazon for replacing my plug I decided to spend a a bit more and get this one.I was worried about the dimensions but it seems to fit the plug hole very well and the build quality is good.Where this product lets itself down is the retaining ball on the stem is not the same as in the picture.it is both more recessed, and higher up the stem than is shown in the picture. This means that as you push the plug into the hole, the ball is not making it past where it needs to be able to provide resistance to pulling the plug out. also because it is not very proud (too recessed), I suspect that it wouldnt offer as much resistance as the old plug - even if it was at the right height.I'm in two minds whether to send this back as there doesnt seem to be any plugs that provide the measurements of where the ball is located and clearly, working off the pictures is unreliable. I could be forever searching for a proper replacement!

I have bought several of these over the years and this is the best version I have ever had, pack states made in England and boy can you tell, a quality item, fits perfectly and do not leak when in use.

Very good quality plugs. The outer diameter is slightly smaller than the hole in my plug, but I knew this would be the case. It doesn't actually deter from its functionality in my case. Well made, very good value.

Used it for few months. Good price and quality but the size is a little bit different from my kitchen.
