Quick way to test your spa or pool water
I use Aquachek (there's no 'c') strips to test my spa's water every few days. I'm very happy with these strips, and find them much faster and easier than the other options I've looked at. The bottom of this review explains what the different chemicals do if you're not familiar with them. Pro: + Easy to use: dip them into your pool to wrist depth, set them flat and count to 15 (seconds), then compare colors. + Includes all the tests I care about. Hardness, total and free chlorine, PH, alkalinity, and as a bonus Cyanuric Acid which doesn't apply to my spa. + Colors are easy to read in twilight and lighter. + Includes a pamphlet with a color chart if you lost yours Con: - Colors continue to change after the first minute, so you really do want to look at the colors within the first minute or two. What the different readings are used for: TOTAL HARDNESS tells you if you need to add or remove chemicals to make the water harder. Too little hardness and metal in your pool releases minerals. Too much hardness, and it can gunk things up. Usually this is only checked when adding significant water to the pool. TOTAL CHLORINE / BROMINE and FREE CHLORINE together tell you whether you need to 'shock' the pool to free up bound chlorine / bromine, or whether you just need to add a bit more to replace evaporated chlorine. If you add too much and get a high reading, leave pumps running with the cover off to encourage faster evaporation of the chlorine. I got my 800 gallon spa from 20 ppm to 5 ppm in just a few hours this way. pH and ALKALINITY can affect stability of chlorine levels, so good to keep them where they belong. CYANURIC ACID is (I think) an additive to help keep sunlight from decaying your chemicals as quickly. My spa is in a gazebo so I don't use it. Overall, I like these test strips and have been using them for a year or two.

Easy to use
These are great they take the guesswork out of reading them. You download the app, for free and the app takes a picture of it and reads it. It tells you how to fix any issues you have. Plus it keeps a history of you; it’s so easy to use.

Good product, good "use by" date, and fair amount of test strips.
Really like these test strips and get a consistent result from them. Chose to not order the color chart bottle each time to save plastic and money. Good product and good "use-by" date. Highly recommend this vendor and product.

Easy to read!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These are my "go-to" pool strips and I was pleased to find them at a great Prime Day price! They hold their test result colors much better than my old ones, which faded almost instantly.

Strips do not work with required App
Purchased to read chemical levels in my hot tub using the AquaChek Connect App. First, realize this is a “refill” kit and does not include the color chart so you must use the App. Problem is the App scan feature requires you to align the top (white) and bottom (black) tabs to take the photo after 25 seconds. There is no white tab at the top of the strip. The tab at the top is the hardness indicator. Consequently the scan cannot be made rendering the strips entirely useless. Returned to Amazon.

Perfect! Just Use Them Correctly
I purchased these because the slightly cheaper ones I bought at the store weren't giving me the right readings. No matter how much PH+ I put in the pool it never changed. So I doubted everything else. When I purchased these for cross reference I saw right away the colors were darker. And the hardness was much easier to read. The bottle congress with the chart so there's no need to buy the other one they have unless you want the plastic sleeve that connects to the bottle to place the chat in. I've had these for a couple weeks now. Yesterday I went to the pool store completely confused how my entire pool went from sparking clear, to green in just an hour and a half! I doubted the strips. So they did a water test in a machine connected to their computer and it gave me a read out. Every result the computer gave me was almost exactly what these test strips told me. I am very impressed since so many pool stores will tell you they are junk. This pool store actually promotes buying these exact strips. HOW TO USE CORRECTLY: They told me to take a bowl and dunk it down into the water about half your arms length and place the filled bowl on the counter. Then dip the strip in the bowl quickly. For half a second. NOT 1 or 2 seconds. Doing more than 1/2 a second will dilute the pads too and remove the chemical on the pads and you will get the wrong color. EDIT: I shocked my pool last night after getting back from the pool store so the chlorine levels won't match the paper they printed. I took the photos this morning.

DO NOT BUY!!! Useless strips with no colour chart. May as well throw tea leaves in your pool or spa and try and read them. Grrrr

Great system I enjoy to do the test. Which I really do when I have to compare strips to charts.

Piece of junk, don't waste your money. No chart to compare. How do you want me to use this. Waste of time waste of money, now I have to order other ones.
