The story and characters audiences know and love come to spectacular life in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic “Beauty and the Beast,” a stunning, cinematic event celebrating one of the most beloved tales ever told. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father; Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Ewan McGregor as Lumière, the candelabra; Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; Audra McDonald as Madame De Garderobe, the wardrobe; Hattie Morahan as the enchantress; and Nathan Mack as Chip, the teacup; with Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts. 2D Blu-ray disc bonus: • Enchanted Table Read • A Beauty Of A Tale • The Women Behind “Beauty And The Beast” • From Song To Screen: Making The Musical Sequences • Extended Song: “Days In The Sun” With Introduction By Bill Condon • Deleted Scenes • Making A Moment With Celine Dion • “Beauty And The Beast” Music Video By Ariana Grande And John Legend • Making The Music Video: “Beauty And The Beast” • Disney Song Selections • Play Movie With Overture • Play Movie With Sing-A-Long Review: Bluray - Good quality, fast delivery Review: Entertaining and engaging musical with great effects - This is a very good live action retelling of the beloved and classic animated film from Disney. The first thing to say is that it is not as good as the cartoon, but that on it's own two feet it stands up as an entertaining and engaging musical in its own right. The 2 hour seemed a little bit long to me at times as some little elements dragged but overall the story was there and recognisable. The best parts are when the earlier version is being followed closely, but nothing outrageous was added and all the new songs were melodic if not catchy. Overall this is a great family film, and ripe for a Sunday afternoon.

Worth a watch, possibly not worth a buy.
OK, so this isn't as good as the animated version (though the beast's additional song was quite good if very modern Disney-esque, you can sing the chorus from "and at last I see the light" over the top of the chorus and it works entertainingly well, unsurprisingly given it's the same composer...), but it's still an entertaining romp and worth a watch. Dan Stevens is excellent as the grumpy beast, Emma Watson is clearly thoroughly enjoying playing Belle but the standout characters are Luke Evans (from Pontypool, woo!) and especially Josh Gad as Gaston and LeFou respectively - having a whale of a time with the whole thing. ...just don't think too hard about how a candelabra can "spend quality time" with a feather duster without a brief and spectacular fireball... Worth a watch - possibly not worth a buy. Amazon Video has it for rental...

So much better than I expected.
As a fan of the original cartoon I wasn't expecting much from this remake, I don't see the point of redoing a classic. I must admit that I was wrong about this movie it was well worth the time, Emma Watson was excellent as Belle. The star for me was Luke Evans as Gaston he was a superb over the top villain and he was a perfect counterpoint to Emma Watsons sweet portrail of Belle. I can highly recommend this movie for all the family.

Thoroughly enjoyable family film
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film with my daughter. The acting was excellent in my opinion (especially Gaston) and it was great to see the parts acted out by people. I liked the fact that it is very similar to the cartoon version, with the same songs and reasonably similar dialogue and costumes, it was great seeing how the various scenes have been interpreted to be played by actors. The special effects are great. In all, I loved it, I've watched it twice in close succession and would highly recommend it.

Beautiful film!! Shame about the delivery.....
Loved the film when I saw it in IMAX......bought as a birthday gift for tomorrow so wanted day of realise.....however still waiting and Royal Mail seem to have mucked up my order by 'attempting' to deliver without leaving any collection card but signing that it's ready for collection at my local DO Film 5 star.....delivery 0 star! Will have to go and get another copy if it doesn't show up tomorrow to avoid tears!
