Great item
Great item does exactly what it states, It closes the door and has great tension, and easy to install, and adjust and to fit. And it is certainly strong.

Good Item
Had years of asking my daughter to close the living room door. I decided to solve the issue by getting closer. Color blends in well with out decor. Very easy to fit however, I do need a bit more tension but I feel if I turn the bar another notch it may damage it. That said, the door does close but not fully because of the door handle catch is stiff so it's stopping it.Another slight niggle is, when the door closes, it does make a very slight rubbing noise when the bar slides along the plastic guide attached to the door. Not a deal breaker but it's there.Over all I'm happy, no more arguments and my thermostat in the hallway on the other side of the door now has a more constant temperature to work with lol

Update on a previous review
From 2 stars to 5 stars with two simple and cheap modifications. First, do not use the screws supplied with the unit, they are cheap and poor quality. You might get them screwed in without destroying the cross-heads, but will never get them out. I managed to remove them by brute force without damaging the door too much. Second, dismantle the unit, taking care to keep the parts in the right position and order, (the springs have different sized locating legs). Then loosely pack the inside of the unit with grease and re-assemble. The unit now works perfectly and silently. Why don't manufacturers read reviews?

Not constructed from the greatest materials
Works well but the screws rounded off and the slider bit that goes on the door is made of cheap plastic and randomly broke in half and fell off (!) after 3 months

Use care when screwing the four main screws
Very efficient device, works very wellOnly criticism is the screws could be stronger, even when screwing into medium hard WOOD, the final screw head broke away. fortunately the other three held the main body into place.

Worse than useless
Be warned that all this door closer may succeed in doing is breaking your door jamb and leaving you with holes in your door where you'd installed it. It may be OK if you just want to loosely close a door so it is not wide open, but the short arm is never going to have the leverage to completely close a door firmly. Certainly not any use if you are trying to install it on a fire door to close completely. Also be warned that it is very easy to trap your fingers underneath the strongly tensioned arm - I narrowly avoided injury. Finally, when I tensioned it, the door jamb, and even then there wasn't enough tension to push the door all the way closed.

Keeps the door closed. Some damage to door caused by clumsy use.
This has been installed for about a month now.It was easy to install and works well to close the door fully, but doesn't slam it.Perhaps because this is fitted on an internal door which opens back wider than 90 degrees, the plate does not cover the full range of movement of the end of the closer and this has has caused marks on the door (a grey line). We also had an issue, when the door was being used by children without close supervision, that the bar has poked a hole in the door. Both of these issues have been remedied by installing a fingerplate along the full range of movement of the bar; and I would still replace this if it was to break.
