Kensington never let you down!
I had to get this as i work at o2 and i was the only one with a MacBook Pro SO i didnt want to take any chances i got one of these. with the talk of the new iPhone 5 launch days away i rushed on here and picked this one up.. amazing product, easy to use, easy to fit as insulation was a step by step guide. If you ever get stuck then there are loads of clips on YouTube about how to install! If your worried about security in the office or even at a retail store then grab one! it makes that little voice in your head shut up when you have this plugged into!. Sam

Easy to use to keep computer equipment safe
So easy to install and easy to use. One click to secure the laptop and then using the key provided to unlock.

Good and secure, with minor niggles
The twin head provides good value for money, and the second lock attached to its own cable makes locking a second device easy and non-awkward. It's convenient for people who would otherwise have multiple locks with multiple keys (which could get annoying if the keys arent immediately distinguishable and you have to unlock your laptop regularly). You get two clicksafe locks on one cable (both taking the same key), two little steel things to screw into the kensington lock slots on your devices with a little tool each for the screw, and two copies of the key they both take. Main reason I only buy kensington products is that you can register the key serial numbers online, and they'll send you new ones free if you lose them (which to me is worth the extra £15 over the cheaper locks alone). The cables on kensington locks are supposedly harder to get through with bolt cutters, and most locks come in a 'ultra' variant which has a thicker cable. I should note I had no trouble registering my lock online, having bought it new from the cheapest marketplace offer here. As for the lock mechanism itself; I also own a standard 'microsaver' lock. I bought this one as the microsaver needed the keys to lock and it was getting annoying. Constant locking and unlocking was also causing visible slight wearing to the lock slot on my work macbook. This twin lock also happened to be cheaper than my single lock microsaver. With this one, you screw the little metal head into your kensington slot and click the lock onto that. There's no give to the little steel head on a macbook pro, so no slot wearing. You can screw the thing back off your slot if you need to later. It's a lot easier to watch video reviews for the clicksafe than to put into words how it works. At first the lock can be difficult to open again, and I did panic that I'd locked my computer to my work desk permanently. You need to turn the key 180 degrees and give the lock head a good tug to get it back off. It does need a little force to click it into place. Since it needs the little steel head to work, your coworkers can't "borrow" your lock while you're away with your laptop. I would have liked the clicksafe to have a rubber buffer like the microsaver so it isn't rubbing against my laptop, but all in all this is a decent product with good value for money and key registration so you're never stuck with your laptop permanently locked anywhere.

These locks are fantastic. The nub secures nicely to the device
These locks are fantastic. The nub secures nicely to the device, the lock connects easily, and releases easily too. The mechanism is much nicer to use than the version that connects directly using a little tbar. The connection feels more secure too. The nub fits snugly and it feels like the connection will be stronger than the tbar style lock due to there being no play in the mechanisms.

Good Lock for an iMac
I looked into locks for an iMac and the 'official' iMac lock is pretty expensive (£70). This does the job and fits to the kensington lock hole on the back of the screen as opposed to the whole in the stand. At about a quarter of the price. It also enables you to lock another peripheral (a NAS in my case) on th same lock. So far so good! Good value and easy to fit. It also doesn't clutter the desktop like other cheaper alternatives.

Keeping my bits safe
This is a twin locking mechanism that fit standard laptop holes. I didn't get on with the lock at all because it requires you to fit the lock section to your device which leaves a small round 'head' protruding from your laptop. In some instances this would be fine, but as my laptop is in and out of a bag a couple of times a day it would only be a matter of time before the protuding part ripped the bag. In the past I have used chains that just a have a small T piece that goes into the laptop hole to lock. But with this unit you inset the T piece and, using a supplied allen key, tighten it in with a round section permanently protruding. The lock section is then inserted into the main lock and your device is secured. Security wise I have do doubts whatsoever this device is a secure as any other 'laptop lock' and the added bonus of being able to lock two devices (laptop and external hard drive) was a requirement for me. If it wasn't for the 'sticking out part' I would still be using this. But sadly I had to return the part.

Fantastic item for peace of mind.
I attend LAN parties away from home on occasion so purchased this kensington style lock. Its great. I keep the adaptor in my laptop all the time and connect up the lock when I am set-up wherever I happen to be gaming. It has a very usable length and is easy to use. The fact that it comes with two locks is great as the person sitting next to me was also able to leave their laptop set-up and locked to the desk without worry about it going walkies. Please buy one to cover yourself for insurance purposes. It will also give you peace of mind if you have to leave for food/shower/toilet etc... Be mindful to check whether you need this style or the newer noble style lock as they are NOT compatible.

This is such a great piece of kit
This is such a great piece of kit. Make sure your laptop has the small slot on the side necessary for fitting this tether, it won't work without it (new MacBooks are not compatible). The small metal stud fits really securely to the laptop and then the lock simply clicks over it (a very satisfying click I might add). An absolute must have if you're working in public spaces and want to leave your laptop. This is the best quality tether I've seen.
