A real workingman's drink!
When I was eight years old, my father, deeply dissatisfied with my work ethic as a hashish-roller in the family sweatshop, expressed his intentions to make a good, strong workingman of me. One quiet afternoon, he marched onto the factory floor and pulled me outside, to my howls and protests. "Show me your hands!" he said, and I did. He sighed, and twisted his face into a stern and steely grimace. "Soft," he said, clutching and appraising my palms. "Like a child's hands! Disgraceful!" "But Papa!" I protested. "Nay," he said. "We'll make an honest workingman of you yet, my boy." With that told me to pack a bag. He was sending me abroad, to gain working experience under the tutelage of a fishing-boat captain. "But I'm eight years old, Papa!" I said. "Indeed you are," he said. "But it's never too late to change your idle ways!" That evening I packed my bag as instructed. The next day I shipped off to coastal Ecuador, to serve as a midshipman aboard the 'Penelope,' a French tuna boat captained by a Mr. Honore de Montpierre. Captain Montpierre was a jovial man, but he brooked no laziness from his crew! In my first few weeks aboard the 'Penelope,' I failed to catch a single tuna-fish, much to my disgrace before my fellow fishermen. I would start work at the crack of dawn, and continue until long after dusk. I would end each day no richer for my labors, and no more successful for the long hours of my travails. I awoke one morning to the smell of sea-brine, and the sound of large waves crashing and heaving against the rusted broadside of our fishing scow. Amid the sights and sounds and scents of the day, I noticed an earthy, savory-sweet aroma, drifting gently past me. Captain Montpierre noticed, and offered me a cup of deep, dark brew. "Drink this, little man," he said to me. "This is coffee. This will make you strong!" Indeed! I drank my fill of the coffee, and after that, another, and another more. My arms came alive with a newfound strength, and my gaze fixed upon the foamy sea with a spirited conviction. Before the day was out, I'd hauled 27 tuna-fish up onto the decks of our boat! Miracle? Providence? Plain luck? No, my friends, it was the coffee. Marley Coffee, in the "One Love" flavor, conveniently stocked aboard our vessel in boxes and boxes of curious little poddings that I'd later learn were called "k-cups." This coffee gave me the strength to persevere, and the will to press on! I credit the rough, manly hands and unwavering work ethic I have today to the lessons I learned aboard the 'Penelope,' and most especially, to this delectable and bewitching drink! I would not hesitate to recommend these fine coffee-poddings to any workingman the world over! Can you see me now, Papa?!?! Can you see me now?!! A man! I stand before you, and before the world, no longer a child, but a man!

Best Coffee - One Love, 100% Organic Ethiopia Yirgacheffe
I have been on the hunt for a coffee with orange notes ever since my mom received a gift from a neighbor of this amazing coffee over 15 years ago! - I never thought to keep the bag but I thought it was from Africa so I keep looking. Even though the One Love, 100% Organic Ethiopia Yirgacheffe may not have the strong orange notes I was looking for, it is one amazingly wonderful cup of coffee. It is super smooth, not too strong not to light and actually seems to have a special flavor all of its own. So different from anything else I have had lately. Worth the price for me! I hope you get to try it too and enjoy it as much as I have.

Brewed in Jamaica, most blends not blue mountain coffee
Everyone talks about this coffee as if it is blue mountain or high mountain beans, but even though it has the Marley name it is organic Ethiopian coffee. But absolutely delicious. Smooth, never bitter, full body taste that is well worth this price. We have gone to Jamaica every summer for the last 35 years and there is nothing like mornings with Blue Mountain coffee. If that is what you are craving, splurge on the Wallingford single cups that are actually Jamaican beans. They have perfected the single cup experience with their unique filter netting; it is strong and smooth as silk. But the cost is a little over two dollars a cup, so I treat myself every once in a while to that amazing flavor.

Excellent
This coffee is excellent. Not only is it one of the few fairtrade coffee pod options, it’s super reasonably priced and tastes fantastic. This and the Lively Up Dark Roast are my go-to kcups. When I’ve had company over and brew them a cup of the Buffalo Soldier, I’d say about 50% of the time they ask what kind it is because they enjoy it so much. Try it! Highly recommended

Not For Me
I wanted to try something different. The price was right. The flavor was bold, but hit my tastebuds as bitter. Althought not for me, anyone else might enjoy it.

I’ve bought the Marley Buffalo Soldier Coffee Pods several times now, and they’ve quickly become my daily favorite. The flavor is bold yet incredibly smooth — no bitterness, just a rich, full-bodied taste that wakes me up and makes mornings better. I love that the aroma fills the kitchen as soon as it starts brewing — it’s that perfect, comforting coffee smell that feels like a hug in a mug. The pods work perfectly in my Keurig, no leaks or issues, and the quality is always consistent. What really stands out is the balance — it’s strong enough to give that good caffeine kick but still silky and easy to drink black. I sometimes add a splash of creamer, and it’s amazing both ways. You can really taste the care that goes into this brand. Marley Coffee lives up to its name — good vibes, great flavor, and ethically sourced beans. Highly recommend if you love deep, smooth coffee with real character. This is the one I keep coming back to!
