Large and Powerful
The winch on my boat broke and I decided to get something larger since mine seemed to struggle to pull my 3500 lbs. boat. I decided to get a larger one since mine was rated for 1200 lbs. I figured a bigger one may be better. It was. I don't have to struggle the last foot to get the winch to pull the boat all the way. One thing to warn about. The larger cable this winch uses has a really strong memory. When I first installed the cable on the winch I tied it to a tree and pulled tight to wound it on the spool. When I let the tension go to put it on the trailer it unwound itself. After several uses in the hot Florida sun it still tries to unwind itself when I launch the boat. I am anxiously waiting for the day when it will stop doing that. Other than that this winch is made like a battleship. It is large but the holes lined up with the smaller Fulton one that I took off. I decided against an electric winch because I use different vehicles to pull the boat and I would have to rewire all of them for an electric winch. My son also uses the boat so that would be another rewiring. But at 68 yo I will consider an electric winch next time even though I am not comfortable with an electric winch around salt water which is where I always launch. I never launch in freshwater.

Great winch!
Much sturdier than the typical winches I've used. The dual speed feature is very handy when I have to winch the boat further than I anticipated. It's also easy to change from one 'speed' to another. Overall, five stars.

Tough
About the best you can buy. Installed this on a 26 ft pilothouse boat.

Fulton 142420 Dual Speed Winch - 3200 lbs
Works good but had a manufacturing defect, the product was missing a hole to be able to tie down the strap on the wheels. I had to drill the hole myself with a drill to get it to work. Besides that it works perfect. After almost 2 years of using this winch some of the teeth on the main wheel are gone. One would thing that a product with a 5 year warranty would last a little longer. This is BS & of course bad things happen at it worst time. These products need to be made with better quality material.

Crap quality
Received in box with terrible weld AND weld already rusting from inside out. What the heck? Not the quality you expect from Fulton. It could have used a little more care in mailing, but whatevs, it’s going back.

No Anchor bolt holes
Nice heavy duty wench but no holes to run a bolt thru for a strap. Instructions indicate you need to use an anchor bolt to use the strap but ended up drilling the hole myself.
