This replaced my 15+ year old original brushed model that still works to this day. Overall this is more powerful, ergonomic and easier to use. I’ll keep my old one as a backup. Makita makes some of the highest quality cordless tools available and this is no exception.

Make sure you have five amp hour batteries because it does drain the power quickly but the machine works absolutely fantastic

POWERFUL! QUIET! LONG BATTERY LIFE!
If you're considering a grinder, this cordless Makita is the WAY TO GO!!! It's compact enough to fit anywhere, very durable (dropped it from a 40' windmill by accident), and the most quiet grinder I've ever used. I only wish it had a tool belt hook.ZERO DISAPPOINTMENTEXCELLENT VALUE

It's a Mikita! Great grinding
Ok, I've committed to the we Makita brand and I used this to grind an old light pole down to repaint, workid great. As expected, you burn through the batteries, but I had extras and 2 chargers going. They stood up to continuous usage. Then I did some grading of cement in a confinded space and there was a lot of dust. After a while when you would switch out the battery, you would have to work the switch a few times to get it to turn on. Could have been excess dust in the switch or in the brushes. Still love having a good tool.
