Fantastic step-up from stock plastic folding pedals!
Bought these for a Tern to replace the stock plastic ones, and I am nothing but pleased. The bearings are obviously higher quality, and the folding mechanism both easier to actuate and more sturdy (the piece that locks in is metal and thicker than on the plastic pedals). Something that bugs me about cheap pedals is the spindle is often not quite straight, making just enough wiggle that you can feel it through your shoe. These are dead straight.I'm a heavy guy (~220lbs... and dropping!), and these feel noticeably more solid under my feet.Other reviews mentioned problems with traction; I have none. With normal shoes/sneakers I have no issues wet/dry/standing. The "cleats" along the edge are pronounced enough to do their job. I also appreciate that unlike the stock pedals, these have both a spot for a spanner, and a hex slot on the back for installation. If I had to adjust these on the road I'd have a much better time with my multi-tool's spanner than it's hex key for getting enough purchase. If you're looking to spruce up a folding bike, I can't think of a more impactful way to spend $40 than getting these pedals. I can't speak to their longevity but the ride quality is unquestionably superior.

Awesome pedals replaced cheap factory ones
These pedals replaced the cheap factory ones that are included with a new bike purchase. Those pedals were plastic, low quality and eventually stopped working. These are absolutely amazing! They are made of a sturdy and heavy metal and easily fold in/out as needed. So far I have put in around 100 miles and they still will work as brand new. To protect the bearings I added a little lithium grease which also helps the bearings spin freely. To install a wrench is included you simply hand turn the pedals and finish the job with the included wrench. One possible con is that these pedals are very heavy and your feet may slip off while pedaling due to the weight. Otherwise great investment in a high quality product.

Just installed these. They feel robust.
Just installed these. They feel robust. My original plastic folding pedals failed. These look much better. It does look like the bearings may be impossible to service. We'll see about durability.

A folding pedal that doesn't suck - but still didn't last
I have tried four previous types of folding pedals on my Dahon Mu Uno, and they all failed:suntour folding pedals Original pedals on the bike. OK While they lasted. one sheared off at the shaft mid stroke at about 2000 miles.ACTION PEDAL FOLDING ALLOY 9/16 SILVER/BLACK. Cheap replacement put on under warranty by bike shop. Cheap construction, bound up at 1500 milesAreaware STRiDA Alloy Pedal Set Expensive, with fancy folding mechanism. Didn't spin well, got grit in plastic gears which shattered at 1000 miles. Also slippery.Sunlite Bicycle Folding Pedals, 9/16 in, pair Cheap, folded ok and were nice to use until they bound up at a mere 300 milesI now have about 1400 miles on these and they are great. The best about the MKS FD-7 is that they actually spin. Other than the Suntours, none of the pedals above spun freely even when new, and there didn't seem to be any way to rectify this. These spin great, and feel solid with no loose rattle or wobble. They are still spinning well even after 5 months in the wet, gritty winter and spring. The next best thing about these is that your feet stick to them. The little nubs that stick up at the edge, provide a lot of traction. It is not easy to slip off them (unlike the Suntours and Stridas above which were both slick when wet). The folding mechanism is solid and quick. Overall fit and quality of the pieces is excellent. Hopefully these will not need replacement anytime soon!Update: 2013-01-07Unfortunately these failed after about a year of hard use (about 3500 miles) from a heavy guy on a single speed. The spindle sheared off one near the outer end. They worked great up until that moment. Dropping one star for this failure, but these still rocked while they lasted.Update 2: 2013-07-10I bought a second pair, which unfortunately failed at about 1700 miles, in the same way as the first (spindle broke inside the pedal). I have ordered a third pair, because even if they fail, they are the best folding pedals I can find so far, especially for about $40.

Excellent pedals
Pedals are great quality and look very strong. Size and weight could be a bit high for a person that is looking for something more slim and less heavy.

Very good product.
I have been using these this summer. They work well and look great on a folding ebike.Seem overpriced.I'm happy with them. They give the bike a high-tech appearance.I also bought *removable* pedals for another ebike. I prefer the folding pedals.Purpose:1. pedals don't hit my legs where I have to walk the bike on a sidewalk.2. Folding pedals makes it easier to put a folding bike inside car.3. Putting folding pedals on multiple bikes makes it easier to store them together in garden shed. Buy the cheaper rubber folding pedals for the beach cruiser bikes. You could buy rubber folding pedals for $15.Buy these metal pedals for your nicer bicycles.

Japanese workmanship at its best
Just love how it drops down when folded and how it satisfyingly clicks when unfolded. Piece of art! Hope, will serve for years to come. The only downside is that you need to position the crank verticaly when folding, otherwise the folding part's backside will interfere with the crank when dropping down.

Really long lasting
I've just added these pedals to my 3rd bike. The first pair is now over 6k miles and is still perfectly usable, albeit showing some minor wear. The second one, with ~3.5k miles, still feels like new. A few other folding pedals I've tried gave me at most 2k miles.
