Best for homemade soups
I believe this is one of the best ingredients you can use to make broth at home. Yes, it might be a bit fatty, but taste-wise, it's delicious, and I really enjoy eating the meat afterwards. I must admit I've never purchased oxtail before, so I don't have a point of reference. However, there's nowhere near where I live that sells it, so for me, this option is excellent and reasonably priced considering the weight.

A must in a beef stew or casserole.
I was happy to see oxtails on sale here, my mum and grandmother always used them in a stew and they were the whole basis of a quality stew, gravy or casserole dish, your supermarket stewing beef be elevated to an excellent dish if cooked with some oxtail bones . Good tip from us oldies is to cook your stew on low for 4-6 hours or longer, let it cool down then put it in the fridge to eat the following day this enhances the flavour as well..
