I ordered a four--pack and two-pack of these shoe trees after having blown a couple thousand dollars on six pairs of lizard, ostrich, and crocodile dress shoes from Mezlam Warehouse (their online outlet store). I wear size 11.5 D "loafers" (they don't use laces, but all six pair look different and have names like "monk strap" or "horse bridle" or "penny loafer"), and I ordered Stratton's "large" size that fits 10.5 to 11.5 shoes.These come in a very nice box, individually wrapped in tissue paper. They smell great, fit perfectly in my shoes, and I cannot think of a thing they could do better. They even tell you which one is for the left shoe and which for the right!Excellent value for the money, they are designed to help my shoes retain their shape, and are very sturdy. I will die before these need to be replaced.

I ordered a 2 pack of these Shoe Tree's as a "first shot" due to the price being set at a great point.First: The packaging they arrived in was GREAT! I sometimes get used to mediocre to "bad" packaging and tend to overlook things like bent, torn, thin boxes or even no boxes at all but when the package arrived I was pleasantly surprised. Sleek thick cardboard box and the trees were wrapped and packed with very little movement. When opening the box, the cedar scent was immediately present. Not overpowering but just about right to me.Second: The tree's themselves FEEL solidly constructed. My first thought was solid. I grabbed a couple of pairs of shoes to test.Third: One picture has the tree's in both shoes. One picture has the tree in one shoe and out. Third picture has the tree in a boot so I could take a picture of the inside. Tree's fit great overall. The bar in the middle of the tree slides in to shorten the tree. The movement was smooth with no sticking. When pulling the tree out of the shoe, it springs forward with no sticking. Since I just got these, I'll keep an eye out for any changes to that. I'll be pulling them in and out of 4 pairs of shoes that I wear through the week so I'll have plenty of time to observe that. There is no spring for width and as you can see in the picture showing the inside of the shoe, there's a small amount of space but this is not even close to being a deal breaker. At this point, I feel this tree will be more than fine for keeping the shape of the shoes they're in. Did I mention the Cedar scent is great?I immediately purchased an additional 2 pack for the other 2 pairs I swap out during the week.

I purchased the XL size for my 16-yr old son's size 12 dress shoes as I've experienced the benefits of cedar shoe trees on leather shoes. Being a first time by of Stratton I was a little shocked by what I received. I felt like I was receiving a gift rather than a product. The packaging was a smart looking box with the trees wrapped in decorative tissue which delayed the unwrapping of a seriously well-made and good looking wooden shoe tree. The quality of the wood and the quality build simply rounding out a feeling of complete satisfaction with a purchase. So much so, I am writing a rare review.The XL size, which advertises a fit of 12-14, fit well and while I would like a little more spring tightness for the size 12, I get it that I'm on the bottom edge of the size range. Not a complaint but rather a "If I could have everything" wish.To the folks at Stratton; Well done and thank you for the rare and refreshing personal touch along with a quality purchase. I 'll be baaack...

These shoe trees are great! I've never owned other shoe trees, so I cannot offer any comparisons concerning quality, but these shoe trees are very high-quality, and I can't imagine them breaking in the years to come. These are well-made, and it's obvious that Stratton uses good materials and care when producing these here in the United States.As many others will note, these smell wonderful and do actually leave your shoe smelling nicer than when you bought it! These are also very easy to use. Even though they are spring loaded, the spring is the perfect tension to put pressure on your shoe while not being difficult to compress and slide into and out of the shoe.I had a difficult time deciding on sizing for these shoe trees. When I was ordering, there was no option for medium trees. The sizes I was considering were small or large, and there is a large gap between. Now, for some references. I ordered small, which states that it will fit sizes 7-8.5. The shoes I own are Nike Structure 18s, size 10.5, Nike Free Run 4s, size 10, Cole Haan Oxfords, size 9, multiple pairs of Sperrys, sizes 9-10, etc. While a medium shoe tree may fit my shoes best, I haven't been able to try that size as they were out of stock when purchasing. HOWEVER, the small shoe trees fit ALL of my shoes so well! Even though they would seem to be too small, they fill up each shoe with pressure on both the toe and heel of the shoe. There is plenty of length to fill each shoe, which is what I worried about considering the size difference. These trees would probably fit just as well in actual small shoes ranging from 7-8.5, but they work in larger shoes as well. Basically, these trees adjust in a way that makes it hard to find one that doesn't fit. Overall, the quality of these is excellent, and I plan to buy more with each new pair of shoes in the future!
