Everyday Mathematics Student Reference Book, Grade 4 (University of Chicago School Mathematics Project) Hardcover – January 1, 2007

I cannot stress how helpful it has been to have this book in the house. We don't use it often, but considering the Everyday Math methods are drastically different from what most parents were taught, I consider this book money well spent. Even better if you have more than one child that will use it.Part of the Everyday Math program is teaching a concept and going back to it several times, weeks later (or even longer than weeks). You can see how that would make it difficult if your child (or you) couldn't remember how something was done, or the meaning of something, if it wasn't covered yesterday. You'd have to dig through your kid's school papers trying to find one on the subject. You get the idea.The only alternative is to simply use the internet to find what you are looking for, which is a viable option, however I like to have the book because it is what the kids use in school so it will be explained the same way.

The books were exactly what I needed. They came to me ahead of schedule in perfect condition.

A fairly complete reference book that can be used to refresh the student of early material. This is a reference book with clear, well written definitions and clearly presented examples. I carry it with me to use as a quick reference for all grades through 6 when the next reference book picks up.

It was very helpful to have this book at home and not have my daughter carry it home every day on the chance that we would need to consult it. Some days we really needed it or we could not have done the homework. Math is taught so differently now.

Good book for busy parents, has some neat ideas where it will be easier to teach kids. Parents know how to do some simple math, but explaining to kids is a totally different thing. Thats where this book comes handy

Received promptly in mail as expected.Very helpful book to have as teachers don't like students taking books home.Good source to have everyday with studies with 8 year old student.I would highly recommend to all parents especially to parents who havn't learned Chicago Math.Well worth every penny.Thumbs Up!

I ordered this book because my daughter is using it at school, and I wanted to be able to reinforce at home. I was very specific in my selection of the copyright date 2012. I received the book yesterday and my version is 2007. This is my very first less than positive experience with Amazon, and I am so disappointed.

My daughters school uses the Everyday Math program. This book has been helpful to have at home when we need to clarify a lesson. Especially useful when it seems like my husband and I were taught one method but the teacher is using a different method.
