A Must-Have for Hunters and Shooters!
I’ve been using the Bullet BakTrak 2-Point Rifle and Shotgun Sling for a few months now, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best slings I’ve ever owned. Whether I’m trekking through the woods on a hunt or spending a day at the range, this sling delivers on comfort, durability, and functionality. It’s clear that Allen Company designed this with the serious outdoorsman in mind, and it’s quickly become an essential part of my gear. Pros: • Incredible Grip: The rubberized BakTrak backing is a game-changer. It sticks to my shoulder like glue, even when I’m wearing a slick jacket or sweating on a warm day. No more constant readjusting! • Comfortable Padding: The cushioned design makes a huge difference during long carries. I’ve hauled my rifle for hours without any shoulder fatigue, which is a big win for me. • Durable Construction: The 1.25-inch heavy-duty webbing and sturdy swivels (tested up to 300 lbs.) feel rock-solid. This sling can handle rough conditions without showing wear. • Quick Adjustments: The one-hand adjustment feature is super convenient. I can tighten or loosen it on the fly, which is perfect for switching between carrying and shooting positions. • Noise Reduction: The rubber grip and flexible face material keep it quiet—no annoying rustling or clanking when I’m stalking game. • Versatile Design: Works flawlessly with both my rifle and shotgun, and the included swivels make swapping between firearms a breeze. Cons: • Length Adjustment Range: While it’s adjustable (28 to 35 inches), it might feel a bit short for taller users or those wearing bulky gear like heavy winter coats. I’m average height, so it’s perfect for me, but others might want to double-check the fit. • Swivel Installation: The swivels are high-quality, but attaching them to some firearms might require a bit of extra effort or tools if your gun doesn’t already have compatible studs. Not a dealbreaker, just something to note. • Weight: It’s not the lightest sling out there due to the rubber grip and padding. For ultralight backpackers, this might add a few extra ounces they’d rather avoid. Overall, the Bullet BakTrak 2-Point Sling is an outstanding choice for anyone who values reliability and comfort in the field. The pros far outweigh the minor cons, and it’s priced reasonably for the quality you get. I’d recommend it to any hunter or shooter without hesitation—five stars all the way!

Nice sling - on the short side
This sling is sort of frustrating. First off it seems very comfortable and nicely distributes the load of the rifle across a wide area on the shoulder. It seems to be made of good components but the stitching was a bit sloppy and lots of tag loose ends. HOWEVER - it is short exactly as others have stated. At full max length it is just long enough for my needs to carry, but far too short for using as a shooting support. The distance between my sling studs it only about 27" so if yours is much wider than that I would suspect you might have problems with this sling. Good for a youth rifle or other compact designs. Clearly this sling is targeted at the hunting / field market so I wonder why they would not include another 6-8 inches of the inexpensive web material to make this more versatile? Good sling - just make sure you measure the distance between your sling studs to see if it will fit before you buy.

Used for a day, it broke!
Thought it was great- it was padded well, seemed to be well built. I didn't use it all season long, but the last day we got heavy snow, and I wanted to use my brush gun, which this was bought for. I about went nuts from the metal squeaking, and occasionally smacking into the stock- but I figured I'd wrap it with tape later. Until-- crash! the damn forestock swivel pin that was secured, same fashion as any other sling swivel stud connection in the 40 some odd years before it- twist loose the bolt, push it and rotate it, slide the pin through the stud, push the aforementioned threaded side and twist it onto the pin on the other side of the stud, and then twist the bolt tight. Always worked without fail. Until this one on this day! "500 pound Strength" it claims to have- well my bush gun is 6lb 4oz bare, + 13oz with the scope + 3oz with the rail & rings. 7lbs 4oz, we'll go ahead and call it 8lbs, with the DBM + 4 150gr .308 handloads. F- call it 10lbs - Sure not near 500! And yet crash goes my rifle, scope first, bouncing its way down the steep I had just made my way up, off the snow covered rocks, granite ledges, sticks, trees, and really REALLY massive log that finally made it's sudden hault. Unbelievable! these pins walk there way right through the closing side. I used the buttstock swivel stud clip to really inspect the engineering of this POS, and see how it happened- the end that is usually secured by at least a beveled flange on the outside of the pin on the fixed side, if not a solid connection like the one that connects the base to the oval sling bracket or the other pieces that connect to the base- this pin can slide right out of the side its "fixed" to, and straight out through the opposite side that you can loosen and flip down to either side to attach/detach the unit. Long winded explanation for this, "JUNK!" Absolute JUNK! and of course, just a couple weeks past the return date. I bought it in late October, Used it 1 day in Late November - wait, no Dec 1st...for the most part, not even on my shoulder. It was only on my shoulder for MAYBE 30mins if that, and it failed miserably, causing damage to (luckily) one of the cheaper of the lot of my treasured Firearms, but I still care for, and take excellent care of ALL my guns, optics, and accessories. This is truly a great disappointment. I will machine something that fits into the vacant pin slot, and after it's loctite cured & secured, I will be wrapping the set of them in black duct tape. or electrical tape if that holds. Or maybe just throw this junk out and get any of the hundreds of other slings that have never had any issues like this before.
