Best par-Cooked boba pearls I've ordered! Although do NOT to order form CL Marketplace!
Best par-Cooked boba pearls I've ordered and I've order almost them all! The amount you get for the price, you can't beat! The best way I've found to cook them and infuse flavor (otherwise they're pretty bland) is as follows: Depending on how much pearls you want to cook at once, determines how much water to use. I recommended only making enough for how many drinks you plan to be serving or will use within 4-8 hours, at room temp, otherwise they start to get hard. For 1-2 drinks: I put enough water to fill halfway up my 6 quart pot, bring to rolling boil. Optional: I like to put about 1-4 cups of sugar (preferably the darkest brown you can find, but you can mix and match any kind of sugar you want) into the water, to infuse extra deliciousness into the pearls while they cook, highly recommended! Plus, you can reuse the water 3-6 times (storing in the fridge between each use), because who wants to waste that much sugar 😅 and it doesn't affect the pearls. Then, I add a little more than 1 cup of the pearls into the boiling water, stir it around a little bit, wait till I see them starting to float to top, then turn the heat down to medium, put the lid on, set the timer for 11 minutes, stirring occasionally. When timer goes off, turn the heat off, leave pot on burner with the lid on, and set timer for a additional 10 minutes, just letting them sit in the hot water. When timer goes off, I drain them into a colander, that is inside a bigger bowl, to save the water (mentioned above), put said water aside, then rinse the pearls in hot water to get the extra starch off. Put the pearls immediately into a tubberware, I use a smallish one that says it fits 2 Cups in. If you like them sweet (trust me, you will) then add 1-4tbsp of dark brown sugar/any sugar and a little simple syrup (1:1 ratio of dark brown sugar dissolved into of water), enough to cover the pearls. Mix them up and let sit for 15-40 mins, depending on how sweet you like them. After that, put pearls and a little bit of the syrup they were soaking in into bottom of glass/cup, add drink of choice on top and enjoy pure bliss👌 I make my drink by putting some strong brewed, ideally loose leaf, black tea (I get a Thai tea bag that says "bubble tea mix" from my local Asian market or online), some coffee creamer (I use sweet cream flavored), some zero fat milk or water (because I gotta balance all this sugar somehow 😂) in a cup, heat in microwave for a minute and a half, because I like my drink warmish, completely optional. Pour on top of pearls and syrup, mix it up with one of my reusable boba straws, and am taken to absolute heaven, without having to spend 5-10$ or leave my home 🙌 tastes identical, if not better than your local bubble tea shop 👌 It's a very large bag so I recommend this if you are a avid boba tea drinker/large family or you know how to store it right. The bag is not resealable so for the first couple of days/uses, I keep it in my fridge taped shut, with as much air as possible removed. After that I will transfer to a gallon zip-lock bag (usually will fit in one and maybe a single sandwich bag), close almost all the way, and then put a small straw in the corner and suck out as much air as possible before sealing it shut after every time I open it. It easily could last me a couple months, if not more, but I go through it in about a month and a half 😅 Edit: after a couple of batches cooked, I noticed some sand/gritty granuals in the bag, water and drinks I had made. I highly recommend NOT buying from CL Marketplace, have NEVER had this experience with any other sellers.

Easy to make and delicious
I really am enjoying these Boba Pearls. They are super easy to make, and after a bit of experimentation to achieve the perfect texture for myself, they are consistently delicious. (I like my pearls a bit chewy, so I cook them for 7 minutes for each of the steps.) I am experimenting with the flavoring to add after cooking them and so far have been happy with all of the combinations.

Decent Boba at Home
These overall taste decent and have a nice chewiness, but are not quite the authentic boba from the restaurants. This brand of Boba is a great deal if you cook this kind of stuff frequently like I do. Take is good and the texture is chewy, with a little gummy note to it. Not a fan of how easy the dried bobas break apart when handling them which can make it difficult to use them. Overall, this is a decent product for a good value.

Tasty boba at a tasty price
This E-Fa Brand Premium Grade Black Tapioca Pearls (6.6 lb) makes tasty boba at a tasty price. I have teens who are addicted to boba tea but wow! At $7/cup at our local boba tea place, it gets really expensive. Fortunately, I can make it at home now and it's as good as the prepared boba tea we used to buy. This is a big bag of tapioca pearls, the boba in the tea. They are dehydrated and vacuum sealed so you will want to store it in an airtight container. The pearls must be rehydrated and cooked, which takes about 20 minutes, as per the instructions on the bag. I did try the microwave method another reviewer mentioned but it didn't work for me in the same way as it worked for her. Still, I like boiling the pearls in the microwave as it saves time. Do not that as the pearls rehydrate, they bubble and can bubble over in the microwave so loosely cover whatever you are boiling them in. My kids like cold boba in cold, milk tea so you will need to prepare the tea ahead of time so it can cool. Make sure you use a strong tea and make a strong brew because you will be watering it down with milk. I use Numi Chinese Breakfast Tea but there are loads of strong teas that are available. My kids like it sweetened so I make simple syrup and keep it in the fridge but you can also use honey or even molasses. This boba tastes good and is easy to prepare to the desired softness. Now that I make the tea every night, along with simple syrup, if I am out, it's easy to just prepare the pearls as needed and the kids can have boba tea whenever they like. I also bought fat straws for the authentic, boba, experience. https://www.amazon.com/YABOT-Stainless-Angled-Tip-Milkshakes-Eco-Friendly/dp/B07T6ZKV2W/

The BEST boba!!
Our local Asian market sells this boba. Sometimes we don’t make it there as often as we like. Sometimes we order it on Amazon. The taste is perfect, the cook time is very quick and super easy to make. It’s so easy my preteen can make it!

PERFECT Consistency
Just want to preface that I saw other reviews, talking about the mold issue, and did notice a bit of moisture in the bag upon receiving my boba. Before even cutting it open, I shoved it in the freezer (will update if this gives me any issues down the road). That being said, I pulled out the bag this morning to try and make the boba, and it worked perfectly well straight out of the freezer! Boiled about 4 cups of water in a pot, added 1/3 cup of dry boba (admittedly, I probably could have used just 1/4 or 1/6 of a cup). Boiled the boba on high until they floated (as per the directions), on about medium-high heat I boiled them for 5 min covered, then turned off the heat and simmered for 5 min more. I poured out the water, added brown sugar, and they turned out so PERFECT. The chewiness and texture are just as good as the tea shops (maybe even better)! Hoping the freezer trick keeps em fresher longer! But they work STRAIGHT FROM BEING FROZEN! :)
