These are FAR superior at filtering and keeping your aquarium healthy than generic off-brand filters. I tried saving money and regretted it. My fish are now heathier, the water clearer and tests healthier, and they last longer (sometimes I had to change the others every 2-3 days). Very much worth the money!

They keep the circulated flow from having nasty algae visibly floating around the tank’s water. Let’s be honest here, if you are worried about a critique on a small filter, for a small tank, for small inexpensive fish, you may be worrying about things that don’t matter.

These are just as good as what you buy in the pet store. But at a much better price.

I'm burning through a new filter every few weeks but the fact that they keep up with everything I do makes them worth every penny. I've changed fish loads, substrates, plant configs, everything that can possibly be done. The fact that the filters catch all the junk I put in there and keep the tank running (a 30 gallon tall) is a good thing. I do have to order these a dozen at a time now however they are still cheaper than buying locally - so just plan ahead as any fishkeeper should. I'll be adding another aqueon filter product just because of the good luck and ease of use so far.

This filter really did a great job of removing excess gunk from our betta fish tank. Definitely helped keep the nitrate and nitrite levels in check! must replace semi monthly - monthly (in my experience).
