Eye Shield, 4 Pcs Plastic Eye Shield Eye Patch for Eye Surgery Covering Breathable After Surgery Eye Protection with 1 Roll Tape & 4 Elastic Rope, Clear

I knew I would need eye protection after my recent cornea transplant surgery and I bought these in advance. To my surprise, the one they gave me at the clinic following my surgery was identical (very happy about that). Although it’s quite sturdy, you do have to sleep with it on for a week or so and eventually I did need another one. I never did have to use the tape as the strap held it in place nicely. However, it could have used instructions on how to attach the strap. I had to fumble around a bit before I figured it out. As the one they gave me at the time was already “put together”, I could use it as a guide as to how they were supposed to attach. It still was a bit of a challenge getting the strap through the holes. All-in-all I was very happy with this purchase.

Needed for after surgery. Thought the elasticated bands would be better than the tape on face. Nope. The part where I tie the knot always folded inwards toward the eye I was trying to protect. In the end I used the patch-protector, but used medical tape on face.

I used the shields with the tape attachment around my eye at night to sleep , in the weeks following cataract surgery. To prevent you from rubbing at the eye while you are sleeping.You will have to use new tape strips every night to attach the shield to your face . It is not uncomfortable and you get accustomed to sleeping with it.

Many nights I would wake up with the hard plastic digging into my skin giving me a headache. I was constantly readjusting it. I only used one and threw the rest out.

I prefer the tape to wear a night. Some say the elastic may be too short, too tight. To solve that I took the little black gizmo off that adjusts the length and tied a small knot in each end of the elastic after running thru the plastic eye patch. That lengthened the elastic and the elastic is no longer too short. See pictures. You can adjust the knot as well as to length of the elastic. The clear patch is easy to wear during the day because you can easily see through it. With the holes in the patch, it doesn't get condensation on it nor is it too hot. Very reasonable in price.

Just has a vitectromy and wanted something to wear without tape. This seems like it would be ok, but it is true the straps are to short and it's not concave enough, still touches entire eye area.
