I got this for the birthday of a family member and by all accounts it was well received. My own son is hugely into Lego and has a number of other sets from the Lego Minecraft theme. They are generally good value for what you get, provided you are fans of the game and it’s uniquely blocky building aesthetic. This set has a good mix of characters and features, making for a good play set for younger builders. It can also be combined with other sets from the theme (and perhaps even some of your own bricks) to make a larger Minecraft world. My son has done this to great effect using several sets, extra bricks and baseplates. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination and (perhaps) the breadth of your existing Lego collection! As usual with Lego, you get clear instructions and an age appropriate build experience.

Lego is still a childhood favourite today. Our 6 year old son is testament to this. He loves to build his lego sets with his parents. Bonus is that he is a minecraft fan! After looking for ideas for Christmas, I stumbled upon this and one other set i knew he would love. We downloaded the lego app to help him see how to put the pieces together and he does it all himself with bare minimal help.
