Bought one, then bought more (with update)
Update, March 2022. After about three years for one pair and a bit less for three others, these are still working great and remain as sharp as they were on arrival. All four pairs work identically with no wearing out, rust or loosening. I'm disappointed on the higher current price, but they're still quite nice folding scissors and if I only had one pair, I'd at least buy one more at today's price.Original review:Easily the best folding scissors I've ever used. These are the real deal. They're very compact, don't unexpectedly open, appear to be made with stainless steel, and are appropriately sharp. Obviously these are not your friend for cutting heavy fabric seams or thick plant stems, but they provide sufficient leverage and sharpness to do minor pet grooming (fur knots), fine wire, string of all sorts, and paper. The folding / stowing mechanism is smartly conceived and will not work its way out.I bought one pair, hoping it would be better than the cheap discount hardware store folding scissors I bought several years ago, and indeed they are several steps up from that. I liked them enough to buy three more pairs that are conveniently stored in backpacks and vanity drawers.

Sturdy Solid METAL Including Handles
My mother had a very sturdy, metal pair of collapsible scissors in the 70's, and we have been trying to find some to match ever since.I ordered this pair AND a different pair of folding scissors called "UCEC Folding Scissors Chinese Famous Brand"Zhang Xiaoquan" which were 60 cents cheaper at the time. I was pressed for time and was desperately hunting for a high quality pair of folding scissors that were metal ALL THE WAY Through match our originals. I read a lot of reviews as well as Q & A's which left me not completely confident as to whether either pair had metal handles so I got both. The Chinese pair came with a much nicer packaging. This pair came in a cheap plastic bag. Since the packaging doesn't ultimately matter, I'll go with this pair. The Chinese pair, while metal, is a much lower quality. Even blindfolded, it is easy to feel the difference! These have a nice heft to them and are very sturdy. They cut very well.Compared to all the cheap ones that come in sets and have plastic handles, both are great. Compared to the each other, the 2 pairs I purchased are worlds apart.I can easily and confidently recommend this set assuming all sellers on this listing are sending the same pair I received. I'm thrilled that I wasted the $ buying two pairs because now I know for sure that I found a great pair from THIS LISTING.I hope this long explanation helps someone...

Great Product
This is the neatest thing in a traveling gadget I have seen. I have found it impossible to carry any type of scissors on planes. I carried a less than 3-inch (legal) pair for many trips, but in leaving Portugal one time was almost arrested for having them in my shaving kit. There was no solution...until I bought these. I've gone through many domestic and foreign airports and never had an issue of any kind. They are really clever and when folded, look nothing like scissors through an X-Ray machine. And to use them, all you have to do is pull the two parts away from each other, then fold them to form scissors. The ones I received were slightly different from those shown. Mine do not have sharp ends (which I like) so I don't poke out my eyes when I shakily trim my scraggly 80-year old + eyebrows. They will cut anything. Anything. For less than $10 they are a great travel gadget.

I stick to the quality of what I know
I bought a pair of these more than 30 years ago at a sewing shop and liked them so well I returned to buy a pair for my mother. I still own that original pair, and they are in fine shape, but I cannot find them, and so I bought a new pair.Though I suspect the old pair is better than the new, I base that entirely on my general cynicism about manufacturing now as opposed to three decades ago. These look and feel the same, are quite sharp, are equally precise for fine work where something must be cut close to the surface of a material, and are equally easy to maneuver in tight spaces.I bought these originally because they were so much better than the other tiny scissors I had used before, and I very much appreciated the fact that the design protects the blades from getting dull for reasons that have nothing to do with usage. Nowadays, there are all kinds of options put out by newer brands. But I see no reason to go to these, given that I had such good performance from the original ones--and would still if I could just find the darn things. Wherever they are--and I WILL eventually find them--I know they'll still be just as they were decades ago. No idea what the longevity of these newly manufactured ones will be, but given that they are identical to my earlier pair, I have no intention of trying a new brand when I know for a fact that this maker has a long history of quality and has an established reputation to protect.

TSA Friendly, these are the best folding scissors in the classic design from the 1973 US Patent (US3766648A). "MADE IN USA" is clearly engraved on the one of the handles. To use, you simply pull the handles away from each other, rotate the blades up, and you have a nice pair of scissors--perfect for travel. These scissors have a good heft, and weigh 1.06 oz on my scale. The handles are chrome plated, although the finish on the blades is not as attractive.I had no problems cutting thru plastic packaging, paracord, thick paper, and an occasional loose thread: the kinds of materials I typically cut at destinations that involve flying (and the TSA).
