Light but mighty. Used it for 2 minutes and fell in love. I have 2 other black and decker tools. A pole saw and a jigsaw. The quality isn’t the best but the value proposition is solid. If you need a tool you use once in a blue moon this is perfect. It’s compact, has a small, light battery and it works so well. I was able to trim my holly bush in like a minute. I used to spend 20 minutes on this thing by hand and had cuts everywhere from its leaves.

My other cordless Trimmer broke, since I had cleared most of my trail with the large Hedge Trimmer I decided to buy the 18 inch trimmer. It did not cut the larger stem Scotch Broom as my 22 inch hedge trimmer, however it did cut most of what was needed to cut. It was much lighter and the battery seemed to last much longer. So it was a good trade-off. Most size blackberries seem easy to cut.

My review of the BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Hedge Trimmer, Cordless, 18 inch Blade, Reduced Vibration, Battery and Charger Included (LHT218C1). Before I review this hedge trimmer I think it’s helpful to have some context behind this purchase. I’ve used B&D electric hedge trimmers in the old days. That baby was tethered with a long, long extension cord that I’d have to drag and pull all over the dang yard to get the trimming done. By the time I’d finish my trimming projects my arms were numb. Seriously. Through it all that B&D trimmer far outlived its life expectancy, unlike the electric cord I kept cutting to pieces. Fast forward, this is 2025 baby!! My hedge trimmer dreams have come true! The first thing to note is that B&D really know how to package their products. The trimmer came in a specialized carton that mirrored the shape of the trimmer. While this doesn’t impact the function of the trimmer, it does breed confidence in the brand that B&D would invest their time and energy in packaging. Next came unboxing. The trimmer is 99% assembled. A black blade guard is included which must be snapped into place before using the trimmer. Do not skip this step unless you like to play roulette with your digits. I put the battery in to charge and the it was ready to go in a couple of hours. I needed to trim an overgrown Camellia that was touching the house and blocking the electric meter. I grabbed my new best cordless friend and went at it. I gave that Camellia what for from left to right and back again. I felt that familiar feel of the trimmer from days gone by with one very notable difference - this thing is lightweight! No cord dragging or tangling and no cord accidents that have potential to leave a mark or two. I was so pleased with the results I’m planning the next trimming party of one! If you’ve always thought a cordless hedge trimmer would be a brilliant invention, ta-da! Highly recommend

Light weight, good for small hedge trimming.

Decided to replace my corded trimmer and now wish I had done so earlier. It’s much easier to handle and better balanced than my old corded trimmer, which was a Black & Decker as well. Both times I’ve used it so far, the battery didn’t fade. Also nice that the battery is the same size as the one for my drill. Like the fence attachment that protects your hands while using.

I'm in my 70's , female, and wanted a trimmer that would be easy to use and not too heavy. This is perfect. The battery lasts a pretty long time and then charges quickly. The blade size is just right for trimming our small yard. Great price, fast delivery.

Great hedge trimmer! Make sure to get extra batteries if you have a lot of work to do. I have several other Black& Decker items and interchange the batteries for longer usage. This cut really well and even larger branches than I expected.

This tool is very lightweight and easy to use. I use it to cut down all of my hosta plants and I can still trim a small bush. The only downside is that it is not as strong as an electric one.

I already have the little sweeper and the weedwacker and now got this trimmer. I like it, it's light, not too much vibration and having no corde to worry about or have it cut is no longueur a problem....it actually makes my work faster as well as having a long blade. Came with a good fast ans very small charger. Unless you are using a hedge trimmer to cut trees...this hedge trimmer will do a great job at hedge and flower bushe trim

Received the Black & Decker trimmer today - battery and charger were included in the listing but were NOT included when the trimmer arrived! Extremely disappointing! Not sure if I should return it or ask to have the battery and charger sent separately. HELP!!!
